I've noticed the positive and negatvie signs next to everyone's comments? Am I supposed to go and rate anyone that posts? How many of you do that? What is the beneift to the poster/an or me of doing that? thanks

It is a nice thing to do. :O) I rate people when they respond to my discussions as sort of a thank you. :O)

do you rate negative if you don't like what they said?

I try and rate posts whenever I remember. I've heard that if you receive a lot of positive ratings, it can increase your earnings on MyLot, but I'm not sure! It doesn't hurt to rate though! And hopefully you'll be helping out a fellow MyLot user!

I tend to only give positive ratings unless something is really really inappropriate. Besides, I think the more positive raitings we get, the more we get. I hae ound that I will always make a few more cents each day.

There is no benefit to you for rating posts other than giving your friends a better rating. I always rate posts not only for my friends put anyone who takes the time to respond to my discussions. Personally I feel it's a courtesy to members.

I think that rating a person's post/comment HONESTLY is essential. This way, a user(reader) will know if this user(poster/commenter) is submitting quality posts or comments.

so, what makes a negative rating for you? and who else can read the ratings besides myself, the rater? I haven't seen anyone elses ratings on posts other than my own.
