What was the best thing that happened to you during a hospital stay and what was the worst thing that happened? For me the best thing that happened to me during my hospital stay was the four pints of blood that finally stopped my bleeding and actually saved my life. the worst thing was that the bleeding irritated my colon and caused unending diarrhea that was totally embarrassing as I an elderly lady was reduced to almost baby hood by having to weat adult diapers and subject the poor nurses to the smelly efforts of having to change this adult turned baby by circumstances beyond her control.

the best things to happen to me in the hospital has been receiving my babies - the worst things that happened to me was the loss of my other children - one by still birth. During my first loss a pregnant woman was assigned to me, that was difficult enough - but she was one of these gals who likes to complain a lot and she kept complaining about her pregnancy over and over and calling her unborn child a monster. I was wreathing in pain physical and emotional and did not need to hear her whining and unloving remarks about her own pregnancy.

How awful for you to be in pain and already upset and then hear that woman calling her unborn baby a monster. I do feel for you.I had one miscarriage but was not in the hospital for that but sure felt awful about it so disappointed it was so hard.

I recently stayed in hospital as I just had my baby girl. I had a few best things, can't put it to one thing so here it is: - midwife saved my babies life - cord wrapped around neck - anethiest was really funny and put my mind at ease whilst getting spinal block for operation I had to have after labour as I had clots. - The orderly there was really kind and held my hands whilst I was getting needle in my spine. - Also receiving 4 pints of blood like yourself - that saved my life as my HG levels were down to 63. The worst thing that happened was the nurses that looked after me did not help me enough to stay clean if you know what I mean. I could not change my sheets, I had to wait for them. So there were times when I was sitting in my own blood for up to 4-5 hours at a time. I could not get out of bed as legs were still numb from spinal block. Did not like relying on nurses.

You did really have a bad experience I am so sorry for you I was so lucky that I had some really good nurses who really did respond to me when I called for them because like you I could not change my sheets. I do not think any of us really like having to rely on nurses and when they do not respond that is just awful.

Best thing for me was the birth of my kid. I cannot imagine life without her.Worst thing was the 5 day stay after an emergency c-section. Recooperating form one of those is h*ll! Not being able to shower without permission because of stiches, you get the idea. Just icky all the way around.

How right I remember now after my hysterectomy the stitches and the itching really really uncomfortable. And to top it off there was this really weird man across the hall who would scream for a bedpan at the top of his lungs and then when nobody came at once, he would throw the bedpan out into the hall and this was in the middle of the night. the sound just echoed.
