There are plenty of places where we are required to show an ID. Fair enough, and understandable, but what I can't really understand is why on earth we have a canadian ID that does not show who we are? Of course then we have to present more - with a picture please - so identity can be proved. What the ...? Does this make sense? Gets better.... driver's license is the chosen proof. What if the person doesn't drive? SOmetimes the also ask for a credit card. Excuse me? I am sorry but what kind of legitimate ID needs to be accompanied by two more? Obviously one as poor designed as this. Kids go around with false IDs - many to be able to go to a bar and drink - . Heck anyone can use someone else's ID, it has a name and a number how can you prove it's not mine? I know this is a touchy subject for most north american people, but there isn't much talking of fake ID's for those reasons back home. Why? Because it's a bit more complicated. You see.. the ID has a picture. Wow, what a concept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL A picture in each ID. That person's picture. - It also has a finger print but there it's even scarier for people in here I"m not really sure why:) The fact is that when I'm asked for ID back home, they don't need my drivers license, or my credit card to make sure I"m me. It's right there: My name, my height, my color of eyes and hair - yeah I know people can change it - and.. my picture. I don't have a driver's license. I have a credit card but I don't use it, so I don't carry it around. I also have a passport - the other acceptable ID, but I thought we carried one when we're traveling. The regular ID should be enough, if only it had a picture LOL

Wow I am surprise your I.D.'s don't have a picture. Even the state ones without any driver's priviledges attached to them have a picture here in the U.S.

I think that the news ones do have the picture, but not the old ones. Which doesn't make any sense to me :)
