Who's fault is it that gas prices are so high and climbing?

My full size Chevy van hasn't moved in a few days. Despite other minor mechanical difficulties, the main reason it gets less than 10 miles a gallon. But the cost of gas just keeps going up and up! Who's fault is it that gas prices are going up and will probably continue to go up in a rapid pace?

Let's ask lil bush. I am sure he will have an answer. I think it is about demand and supply to be honest. The more we need it the more the prices will go up. Just my opinion. We are even getting hit on the subway prices. 25 cents but it is still a rise. I take the subway because I can and I do try to help out on prices. Who do you say is causing the issues? Ainge

There is only so much resources available and being there is so many more countries wanting to aquire it. China and India, once third world countries, and now coming into their own and demanding more and more for their own development. As other, more far reaching countries (such as those in Africa) develop they will also demand more too. Supply and demand will always outway political pressure ever time. The use of eco-fuel is being found to be more wasteful than actually productive. What is the answer? We need to move on several fronts: use less, make more and think out of the box for additional resources. What do you think?

Can you imagine if everyone used the subway, or as many as possible? I am sure it would not work for everyone! I don't normally use public transportation where I live but I did when I went to Boston a couple years ago. It was very quick and very efficient to get from one location to another! Do you have FreeCycle in your area? That is also a great way to handle things going in the landfill!

There is an idea that there is only so much oil available and more and more countries are driving to get the supplies that are left. Watch China begin using potical and economic pressure to get into the places like Africa and Asia to gain a foot hold and more leverage. The idea of econ-fuels is becoming more of waste than a savings. But what are we going to do without fuel? Will America just stop driving so much? I think we are either take the hit to our economy (gasoline is a life blood) or we will think out of the box and come up with something new! What do you think?

we are supposed to hit $5.00 a gallon by the beginning of summer, might want to look for a vehicle that gets better fuel milage. Blame? Oil industry, Bush family, Cheney, this whole un-needed war, government... I could continue on, but you get the point. Theres not a shortage, we're just getting screwed.

Have you really thought about the feasability of each one of your answers for the increase in oil prices? Oil industry. It is the fault the fault of the American oil companies or the foreign suppliers. Becareful, people in Europe are paying far more for gas then we are! Bush family. I don't see how one family's use of fuel drives the price up that much. Please explain this to me. Cheney. Ok, you got me here too. Please explain. Un-needed war. I do realize that it was mistake to go in but what do we do now? Cut and run? This would cause even more hostilities toward us. I am sure you have evidence there is no such thing as a shortage. Is there an endless supply of oil? Do you have evidence of this you could share?
