My blood group is A RH NEGATIVE and only 16% of the uk population has the same blood group. I signed up as a blood donor and once I found out about the above fact it made me more determined to reguarly give blood so I could do my bit to hopefully saving someone's life.

I hate to say it, but I really don't know. I have donated blood before, but they don't come knocking on my door for more, I guess that means that it's pretty common. Now, my husband is asked all the time to donate his blood, I think his type is more rare.
