Will you use your photo as avator online?

Judging from your avator you like Japanese anime Naruto , don't you ? I used to be in the same trouble as you, and after took courses of photographing i learned how to make it real. When we're taking photos, all matters, our mood, the light almost everything. I suggest you try as many time as possible to find a pose that fits you the most or in other words to reflect you honestly on the film. No offense but i feel like saying this, personally i think putting our own photo as avator in a online community is also kinda contribution to this society, we're making it real to some degree. Nowadays many parents worried about if their kids were safe online, but what if we all use our photo as avator online?

*nods* My current avatar is Iruka-sensei from Naruto, whom I chose because of his protectiveness towards his students, as well as his dual polite/intimidating personality. I'm pretty fond of him. I wouldn't like having my real photo even if I had a really good one, though, because I don't want people to see me as what I look like. My physical body has very little to do with the reality of my mind and spirit. In fact, part of what I see as "real" about the internet, more so than the offline world, is that you can share emotions and ideas without bringing physical appearance into the equation at all. Thanks for the photography tips though! I would like better pictures to put on my profile, just not as my avatar. I think the kid issue is a tough one. In a way, having your photo up makes you less safe because people could see and recognize you, and a stalker who has found out the town you live in and the place where you work/go to school/whatever has a better chance of finding you if they've seen what you look like. Sure, if everyone used real photos of themselves it would also be easier to catch the criminals, but that's always why the criminals wouldn't do so.

Yes, that's why i put mine here. I also do have an account on Myspace but i don't use my image there i put my boyfriend's lol~ I once put my pic there and there're annoying people sending messages that i don't want to see at all. Mylot is a nice site, people here are also nice. That's why i use my photo as my avator here, by the way it's the first site where i use my photo as my avator.
