when David Hernandez was the one to leave this last week, or were your Glad he left? Does this change the outlook of the show? Personally for me, I was quite surprised when he was Voted off. I would have thought for sure he would have been in the Top 10 for sure. Actually at one time, I thought he would have been one of the top 4. But I am sure a lot of it had to do with his Career choice before idol, but I also feel we have not begun to see the last of him as a Singer either. This could actually be a Blessing for him as he has stated. I think people need to not always judge a person by their past, and only judge them by their future and what they are doing now.
Now that he is gone, who do you think should go next, and are you Happy with the results so far? I think this yr. could be quite interesting as well. I have my personal favorites for sure, and just interested to see how they can go on in the weeks to come.

I was really shocked when he was voted off. Even though he had a few performances the judges weren't thrilled with, he has an outstanding voice. Maybe it was all that negative publicity, although I thought it made things a little more interesting. As for David hernandez, I just heard on TV that he has several record deals in the works already. Not bad.
I wonder if they ever try to find out the demographics of who is voting? Age, race, type of music they like? I think Christy was voted on by the country music lovers. You know, I heard her song again yesterday and I've changed my mind - with a little bit of change in the tempo, I think she could have a country music hit there. I don't think she could use the Beatles song, but another one done the same way. Maybe there will be a lot of music contract out there this year.

Well, I have heard the same things about David, and maybe that is why he left when he did. And look at some of the others who have become Stars that never won American Idol, and were just a part of it at one time or another. This is just a Great way for someone up and coming to get a lot of exposure and get your name out there so when you have a CD come out some people already know who you are.

I do think that Christy should have went, because of her performance, but we already know that does not always do it. I am glad this year there does not seem to be joke in the top.

She probably had the stronger following since she did not have any scandals on her. And there are people who like her or she would not be as far as she is. Can she make it past this week? Only time and her performance on Tuesday night will tell.

I was a little upset that he got voted off. I thought there were others that are still on there that sounded a lot worser then he does. I think he will have a recording contract if he doesn't already.

I was rather surprised that David Hernandez was voted out the last round. He has a good voice and sang quite well. I think his past came back to haunt him. After all, this idol show is based on peoples' votes and when most singers have great voices, other factors like appeal, song choice, personality and history will influence how people vote. Personally, I feel that the most vulnerable contestants at this point of the competition are Kristy Lee Cook and Ramiele Malubay.

not at all surprised. My wife's opinion was he looked a bit to camp. i only catch bits of American Idol, or a sleep with my eyes open to it. however the woman with the blond hair should win. Nothing to do with her singing voice as I am completely rubbish about who is good.
That said I love to listen to the scathing remarks of simon - come on us brits...

Actually David was one of the four I had chosen for the bottom three. I also agree with one writer who answered here that Christie Cook should have been the one voted off according to performance. BUT-as we all know, who avidly watch AI, it is really not about the singing but popularity. Simon eluded to this on Tuesday night talking to David Cook. He said if this was judged like it should and that is as a singing competition then David Cook would win hands down! As it is I believe we are looking at David Archeletta going even further than David Cook simply form the known demographics of the voters. I'm 57, I watch American Idol every time it is on and if I can't well thank God for DVRs! But do I vote? No, and neither do many other people in my age group. The real voters (probably 70 to 80 percent of the 29 million votes)are between the ages of 12 and 25! Thats right the teeny-bopers. These are the kids who actually like Brittany Spears and listen to Hannah Montanna! I think it finishes with David Cook and David Archeletta and Carly in the final three with Archeletta and Carly going head to head in the final. Ultimately I hope Carly wins but I won't be too unhappy with David.

I did see this show last night where he was voted off, but I haven't been keeping up with it to know or say anything more than that, I do agree with you though, just because a door was closed here, that another door will open for him in the near future,

i thought he was one of the better singers actually. you never know about this show ... i don't really know if it was because of his past career choice and quite frankly why was it even brought out into the public. it has nothing to do with his singing but perhaps it put a damper on his idol continuance. i liked Luke .i liked his singing ,not everyone agreed with me, i'm sure we will see Luke and even David in the future they have exposure on american idol and they have a chance to further their careers. i love this show ;it is always surprising ..and very entertaining...

I do not think he should have made to the top 12 so I am very glad he is gone. As far as I am concerned, Ramielle and Syesha can go anytime. Syesha is pretty, nice and can sing...but she is nothing out of the ordinary IMO. I have several favorites but not all I like for their singing, necessarily...I have one favorite that I like across the board- singing, personality, etc. I love seeing how they grow (or not!) throughout the competition.
