Mystery shopping?

You just go 'shopping' as a customer, and then report. You know, how you were treated, good or bad service, stuff like that. Every agency has different standards and questions about what they want their shoppers to explore about the store (restaurant, department store, etc.). Good luck with that.

I was looking at doing this myself and I filled out an application for one, but I had to stop when I seen them asking for my SIN number. I just don't trust this. If there was a way to do this without giving them that information then I would!

Well, they are asking for your SIN (Canada) so that you can get paid. They must keep records. There is no agency that will pay you without recording the payment as a number like your SSN (USA). It's not a problem for your employer to have this number, why would you be afraid of an agency to have it. As long as you do some research on the company and trust them, of course.
