I have this happening to me few times recently. I do not know why.
Few times, I stepped out of the lift and find myself looking at some unfamiliar sight. Then I realized I at the wrong level. I had simply walked out of the lift when the door opened. It happened at home and in office.
I have always trust myself and my instinct. However, this time I had to remind myself to make it a point to check the level before I stepped out of the lift. It simply make me look like a fool, agree with me?
Friends, when you are in the lift or elevator,
how do you know you are at the right level?
Do you trust your instincts?
Do you check it out before you stepped out of the lift?
Or am I the odd one out here?
Any suggestions/ideas why such is happening to me?
Appreciate your views :)

It sounds as if you are too tired.
It's time to get that something that spells R.E.S.T.
For me, before I get out of a lift, I will usually verify the floor first. There is a LED display top center of the lift and I can easily check.
It is quite likely I would be staring at it anyway.

Hello Whyaskq,
I'm happy to share that I don't have this problem. Not that I'm so conscious when I'm riding an elevator -- no that's not it at all. Instead, the reason is because where I live, most buildings are one story. There are a few exceptions, though no buildings are permitted to be taller than three stories. Which means that I would take the stairs, if there is a second or third story.
Yeah, it sounds kind of strange. Yet, the county and city ordinances prevent tall buildings to preserve everyone's ability to drink in the beautiful views of the mountains.
One of the nicest benefits is that when I'm driving down the interstate, I can see wide-open spaces for miles and miles in most directions.
So, there are benefits to living in a sparsely populated place. No elevators to get tripped up by! (chuckle, chuckle)
