In February Michelle Obama stood at a podium and stated that "For the first time in my adult life I am proud of America"! The next day her husband, Barak Obama democratic presidential hopeful, tried to render some form of damage control by saying what she meant was American polotics! News flash Barak she said it not only once but TWICE the same way, she meant it the way she said it! Since this little political oratory fiasco we as Americans have seen very little to absolutely nothing of Michelle Obama. Why do you suppose that is true? Could it be Barak has his hands so full with his church affiliation and its racist pastor that he doesn't need Michelle spouting anti-patriotic euphanisms on the other side of town? If you would like a black woman's take on what Ms. Obama said, Michelle Malkin wrote a piece about it back in February and here is the link:

Weren't you the one who couldn't believe I'd used the Huffington Post as a reference? So you give a piece written my Michelle Malkin? In answer to your question, Michelle Obama has been in Pennsylvania the past few days so she is very much still in the mix. If you're proud of each and every thing you're country's ever done or has stood for, I say good for you but while I love my country and I'm as patriotic as the next person, there have been times I haven't been all that proud of America either. We can always do better.

No one can be proud of everything our country has done. That's not possible. But she did say that until now she's NEVER been proud of our country. I think our country has done a fair number of things to be proud of prior to now. She's getting attention because no first lady that I've ever heard of has spoken of this country in such negative tones.

Anne,
No it wasn't me about the Huffington post but I'll answer you anyway. It wasn't that she wasn't proud of SOME of the things her country had done it was that she had NEVER been proud of her country her entire adult life until now! I have to take that to mean now that they are voting for her husband! As far as Michelle Malkin is concerned you do know she is a black woman don't you?

OOPS! I took her statement too literally when she said she was a woman of color, Michelle is in fact Asian American but still a minority!

I think she meant every word she said and although I was unable to see the article you referred to the link was excellent as I was able to read a whole slew of articles regarding Michelle Obama and her beliefs. It just struck me as being strange that this link did not work because yesterday I posted a discussion regarding Pastor Wright's infamous damning of America sermon http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1435377.aspx#
I now find this video has been removed from youtube. Even although I do not agree with what has been said I DO agree with freedom of speech.

Hillary was the first out of control first lady, but I think that Michelle has nothing on her. HillaryCare almost destroyed Bill, and set the Democrat party back 12 years, imagine what Michelle could do. Women tend to be more religious than men. Maybe Rev. Wright's teachings have had more of an impact on Michelle than Barack. Before anyone say that we should not be bring the wives into the discussion, remember that Michelle entered the fray. Let us also remember that the Left went after Cheney's Lesbian daughter, or Bush's daughter. I do not think Barack will win either North Caroline, or Pennsylvania. This hugh over estimation that the Anti-American vote would carry him to victory.

When she has been listening to her pastor for so many years I can understand why she said what she said. He preaches hate and anti American. I have heard sermons from the past few years and if a white preacher said those things about the Black Community people would be demanding that he be locked up for being a racist. Gerolldine Ferro was released from the Clinton Campaing for telling the truth. Senator Obama gets to keep his minister on the campaing so I guess he agress with his Ministers views and wants his advice. Many will believe that what Michelle Obama stated several weeks ago must be what she truly believes. It will be nice to have a First Lady who is ashamed of the country that allowes her to rise up in the cooperate world and make close to $400,000. Unless she is referring to the fact that her husband got the hospital a $1,000,000 grant shortly after she got a big promotion. I would be ashamed if I had to advance that way.

Last week she was in Pennsylvaniaa subbing for her husband so I guess she's alive and kicking. He doesn't need his wife to say anything ingnorant right now, he has his campaign staff doing that. It's been reported in Philly that they are charging for yard signs and insulting the folks buying them.

Sorry, the link didn't work. Either way I think everyone is judged by the company they keep. Bill was often judged by Hillary's behavior when he was president. I think it's clear that Obama's closest friends don't like this country and his pastor is a clear racist. It amazes me how so many people rush to defend him ignoring the remarks of his wife and pastor.
