As for me, i knew internet 10 years ago from my friend roommate. She chatted with his boyfriend using MIRC,and after that, looked at curious me, she teached me how to browse and chat. I remember my first email, using hotmail. he3x. That time, if i don't mistaken, it only gave me about 3 MB storage. No torrent. ICQ still so damn popular. Since in my country internet access pretty rare and hard-to-get i went to post office everytime i want to go online (yes, in 1997, the only net cafe in my city was post office).

My first experience in the internet was when we were required to have our own e-mail addresses so our teacher can send us our grades to our personal mail addresses and access it using the internet. I was really dumbfounded by how the internet worked a few years ago, and I was engrossed to it ever since.

I could not afford a computer so I bought a Sega Dreamcast, a games console which you could plug into your TV and use the television screen as a monitor. I did not buy it to play games but because it allowed me to surf the net on my TV, and I have not stopped using the internet since. I found it was even better when I did buy a desktop computer and could use the internet more easily.
