I am wondering if this is true or just an urban legend of some weird sort.
Is it true that Barack Obama will not recite the Pledge of Allegiance?
I find that difficult to believe and wonder if it is just some crazy rumor someone started.
Please respond if you know that answer.
Thanks for reading and responding to this.

It's absolutely false and has been going around for months now. As for the "famous" photo of him standing with his hands at his side while Hillary Clinton and several others have their hands on their hearts with the claim that this is during the Pledge, that's untrue. They were listening to the Star-Spangled Banner and it's not required, in fact in my personal observations few people place their hands on their heart for its playing. It's expected that you stand and remove any head-wear, period. I think it's a shame the way all the candidates are constantly trashed for things that aren't true and I wish they would be able to stick with the issues!

Obama is not a fool, he can resite anything under the sun-He was the first Black student president at the niversity where he studied law! Are you telling me a lawyer anywhere in the world can fail to recite anything on paper? Common lolalola, those telling such B... S..t are Obama's detractors, i dont particularly favour anybody in the current paolitical atmosphere in America, infact am keen on seeing any of the two democratic candidates beat John McCain-why because, Clinton is a beautiful woman, who for 8 years was in the White House, and o yes! she will be going there with Clinton The Man, a nice thing because, save for the Lewinsky Saga, anything Clinton is pure and solid politics! As for Obama, he will be the first black man at the helm of the most powerful nation under the sun-a nice change if you asked me-so, consider Clinton and Obama as no pretenders to the Presidency and any of them can be on the driving seat and all the passangers will node in silent approval I swear!

I too have heard the allegations about Obama refusing to
say the pledge of allegiance, put his hand over his hear during the national anthem, etc,. The overwhelming majority of blogs and news sites are dismissing the allegations as being photos and circumstances taken out of
context. Doesn't it seem that someone could publish pictures showing Obama pledging allegiance and honoring the flag during the national anthem and put the allegations to rest once and for all? Does anyone know if such photos exist?

Thanks for responding.
I did research and found out it was false and yes, you would think some from the Obama PR camp would find pictures to put the allegations to rest.
It is ridiculous when people start these false rumors.

You know there have been so many crazy stories about this man, it makes me wonder where it all is starting from. The oposition or fear of something new. It has been said he is Muslim because his middle name is Hussain. He is not Muslin, he is Christian. They say he is too young and inexperienced in foreign affairs. McCain is 71 years old and admits he is not good with economics. Well isn't that a bit old for a job that traditionally ages a person faster due to the pressure. And it seems to me economics is where this country really needs the help right now. I doubt if Obama would refuse to recite the Pledge of Alegiance. I even heard that both Obama and McCain were not born in America. Excuse me, when did Hawaii lose it's statehood? And the Panama Canal was still owned by America when McCain was born. So I wouldn't believe these rumors.

Concerning the age of the President, Ronald Reagan took office at the age of 69 and he was one of the greatest presidents ever.

I ended up googling this after I posed the question and found out that it is a lie, a myth, an urban legend.
It is so stupid that people start these vicious rumors.
Thanks for responding.

Whether Obama is Muslum or Christian, he will pledge allegiance. Both religions believe in God and, as commander in chief of the military, I do not think the troops would think much of him if he refused.
If he "dissed" his minister to gain the office, he would do the political thing and do the Pledge of Allegiance. He may or may not mean it..but he'd do it.
