Hi I am also looking to meet and speak with other groomers who may assist/teach metricks in trade...I am a dog breeder who recently through experience started grooming from home because I developed the experience from grooming my won dogs but do not have any prefessional training, however I am doing an online course since I live in the caribbean and we do not have a grooming school here...I would love to speak with other groomers from around the world who may be able to teach me some stuff.. I have a website you may visit where I have pics of my dogs etc...www.samereykennel.zomshare.com or my yahoo messenger bre_reynolds@yahoo.com just say it's about grooming and I will add you to my messenger list. Thanks alot :)

I will let you know what I can. I have worked with animals for the last 8 yrs. first at a Humane society, then at a boarding kennel, and then for a veterinarian so anything I can help you with I will do my best.

Does a dog groomer charge more to groom a young dog who is very squirely and hard to control? Oh, and also big. Or is it better for the owner to wait until the dog is older and calmer?

That is a great question what I do is charge a little less for a younger dog say under six months and then after a couple of times with me the dog gets the hang of the clippers and the blow dryer so then I charge full price but I always let the client know on the first visit no surprises like with a schnauzer its better to start when they are 6 to 10 weeks old and don't expect to have them perfect the first couple of time the dog just has to get used to it they are not born with it they have to be taught how to stand and what to do during grooming. thanks for the response
