What are some ways I can raise money for my trip to Japan?

Hey there. I'm a junior in high school and I've applied to be a part of a sort of foreign exchange program. Over the summer I'll spend a month in japan with another family and go to school there for a bit, see the sights, learn a bit of the language. There's a scholarship that goes with it, but it doesn't pay all of the costs. The trip is 5,900 and my family will have to pay atleast 2,000 along with the expense of travel from Florida to Los Angeles (because the flight to Japan only goes from there). So how can I help my mom and dad in affording the rest of this trip if I go? I really love to travel and I so want to make this possible. :]

Perhaps this site could help you: paidopps.blogspot.com. It's an blog that lists a bunch of ways to make some extra money/get free stuff. Also maybe if you have anything you don't want anymore you can put it up on auction. Or even a part-time job a few days a week. Also taking online surveys might help. Surverspot.com pays for your opinion. Not much, but I'm guessing every penny counts at this point. I hope you're able to make the trip.

I personally write reviews for products that I use. You can do it to by going to Epinions.com. I know they are a legit site as I have gotten paid by them. It wasn't much, a little under $25. You may make more though, because it all depends on how many reviews you write and how well they do. I personally only write 2-3 a month, and they just keep gaining me money. My current balance there is a little under 5 dollars, and you need at least 10 to cashout. Some people make a lot on this site.

hi antithesis! you're going to Japan?? or are you there already?? sugoi! i so envy you! i've always wanted to go to a trip to Japan but is kinda expensive compare to other Asian destinations. i wish i could go there in the future. i really really want to go there and visit all the anime stores i can visit! i don't know the best way for you to save money but for me, when i was still a student, i used to save a part of my allowances. and then, i used to sell old anime magazines to other anime fans. and then, i have also tried selling anime coloring books. me and my sister also sold some old clothes to raise money. if you have a lot of old stuffs that you aren't using, you can have a garage sale. i think its a good way to raise money. good luck! and have a safe trip to Japan! i am so going there in the future! ^__^

You may want to sell away some useful "thrash", old text books, story books and clothings via online eg. ebay, garage sale, and/or flea market. Do odd errands for your neigbour(s), friend(s) and/or relative(s). Collect old newspapers, plastic bottles, glass bottles and etc to sell to these recycling centres. Help people buy computer software and install for them. Do some snacks yourself, package them and sell them at the indoor stadium, outdoor stadium or other special events centres.
