How are myLot top discussions determined?

I started a discussion earlier todoay and already got some pretty good feedback regarding me question. I was curious, however, to see where my topic ranked in top discussions but wasn't able to find it. At first, I was thinking that top discussions might be based on how many responses there are. But this doesn't seem to be true. Maybe it's based on how many people view the discussion. Maybe it's based on a combination of a number of factors. Does anyone know how the top discussions are determined? I suppose it could be a proprietary method which is only known be people at myLot. Otherwise, some could try to take advantage of the system just to get ranked high in top discussions. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks!

I really dont know for sure but I have a few thoughts. I think that the top discussions are ranked with a number of things, like you said maybe how many people view it. Its probably a mixture between everything together, regarding;including: How many people view your topic, how many people respond to your topic, how many people vote in it and how you are ranked by other people. But then again NOBODY knows exactly how mylot works for sure so im guessing maybe you should ask crash or something. Best of luck
