I have had sinus problems my whole life. I don't know about you but mine is the worst when I go to bed at night. I have a hard time sleeping in the winter due to using propane heat. Just as soon as the days turn cool enough to turn the heater on I start getting sinus problems. They usually start out as an irritating dryness in the back of my nose and then I start getting nose bleeds at odd times. I figure this is because of the dry tissues in there. Then I'll get a headache that starts in the afternoon. That same headache will seem to last for days and days so of course I know that I have a sinus infection. If I am smart the minute I think I have a sinus infection I get a bottle of chewable vitamin C tablets and start eating them like they are candy and drinking more water. It's the same if I get a really runny nose. The moisture is important because your sinuses get infected when they don't drain and clean themselves out. The trash in the air like smoke, dust, and pollen collect in our sinuses and when it doesn't get cleaned out it causes problems. I have heard of cleaning your sinuses with a mild saline solution and using it to flush your sinuses out with it. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds reasonable though from the prices they charge on the Internet for sinuses cleaning kits it could be a scam. Has anyone else tried this?

Another way to take care of dry sinuses is to use a humidifier or vaporizer. The moisture they can add to the air in your home really helps with your sinuses. I have also found that the addition of tea tree oil or menthol to the steam will help to clear your head so you can breath better and get more sleep at night. Vicks Vapo Steam is a mentholated liquid that is made just for vaporizers and it really works.

Try getting a bowl of boiling water with a few drops tea tree or eucalyptus oil in it. Put your head over it with a towel over your head. This should help clear your head and lungs and help to kill the germs. If you do this a few times a day you should feel better. If the symptoms persist though, see a doctor in case you have an infection.

Dear Bharath, Have you ever tried Homeopathy?? I have had sinusitis and sometimes migranes too. I am completely cured if the migranes and only sinusitis appears once in a blue moon. I usedto get sinusitis with running nose, gastric symptoms and sneezing. The pain will be on the right half of the face and neck area. I have got that problem c;eared by homeopathy. If you can meet up an Homeopathic Physician andconsult him. He can cure you of your problem. If you like I can also help you. write tome with details

I don't think there's a real cure for colds or sinusitis. You can only control the condition but you can never really cure it. The medications we take just slows down its activity but never stops it. I have asthma and allergies. I always have attacks when exposed to dust and when the climate changes. I take Ventolin whenever I have attacks. I stay away from dusts and during change in season, I try to maintain a controlled temperature by staying in an airconditioned room. If you are really bothered by your situation, I suggest you consult a doctor regarding your condition. He can give you the best advise for that.
