One of the Great cats in the world is the Royal Bengal Tiger, also known as the Indian tiger, and its numbers are dwindling fast. The issue came to the fore recently when a survey of tigers in the wild, the tiger count, was carried out after almost a decade. The startling results placed the number of tigers at less than 1500, down from the 3000 plus since the last count. Please write your local, regional and national representatives, ngos, religious leaders and govt. agencies to help and support the conservation efforts in India. We can make a contribution in saving this magnificent animal.
