Hi everyone, I am posting this to ask for your help. I am currently in the process of trying to collect different things to help out a military family. There dad is in the Navy, and has just gotten back from his second deployment. Starting next month they will not be able to by gas or food for there family. For the past year, they have been using credit cards to help pay for food and gas. As as of april there credit cards will be maxed out. I am trying everything in my power to collect money and other donations for them. If there is anything you can do to help out please let me know. If you know of any people or places to contact that would help them out... please please please let me know. I would hate to see this family loose everything, there house, car, and kids, all because the goverment doesnt pay them enough. Thank you so much for reading, and for your support. *we may not support the war, but we need to support our troops... they are the ones giving you your freedom*

I beg to differ with you. The government pays it's military members plenty to live on. I can say this because I served for more than 21 years and was in administration just about the whole time. I dealt with pay and the troops not able to pay their bills all the time. The one's that normally had problems were the kids that spent all their money buying cars, stereos, etc and having a good time when in foreign countries. For most, it's the first time they've been away from home and had money of their own and they don't know how to manage it. Why are their credit cards maxed out? If they don't have money for food, they can apply for food stamps. There are also organizations on base that can help them if they truly are in need (Navy Relief is a wonderful organization). I'm not saying don't help your friends, but they need to help themselves too. Of course I don't know their particular situation, but blaming the government is a copout.

im sorry you feel this way. but they only make 2,000 a month. They never spend money on steroes, movies, out in foreign countries, or anything else for pleasure. There cards are maxed out because they have putting there food and gas for the past year on them. They have tried to apply for food stamps, and for wic and have been turned down mutliple times. They would go to navy relief, but if you dont know this, what ever money you barrow you pay back. which means if they borrow money this month, next month it will be taken out of there pay check. Which doesnt help them out at all. If you were in the military you should know, how difficult it can be for a young family, not making alot of money.. exspecially in todays world, where gas is $3.30 and groceries are very expensive.

What is your affiliation with the military, that you know so much? Yes, I DO know because I lived it, for more than 21 years. I'm not saying they don't need help or that there is not mitigating circumstances, but it is NOT because the government is not paying them enough. Not even close. What rank is he? How long has he been in?

I was in the Army for 20 years and the military makes enough to live on with housing money and everything or they can live on post plus they should be getting money for him not being with them also or overseas pay if they are living outside of there means its not your fault have then check out the navy base for help.
