With the cost of gas rising toward the $4 per gallon mark with each passing day, has it affected you? Have you started taking the bus or buying less groceries? How has it affected your life?

Gas prices have had a pretty big effect on me. I moved 15 minutes closer to where I work, now I take the bus to work every day even though I'm still paying $10 a month on a parking pass, it's still cheaper to ride the bus than to waste the gas money. I also feel like it has effected a lot of my friendships as I am always hesitant to leave the house now. I don't shop nearly as much as I did before and I base everything around how much it is going to cost me to drive.

Sounds like it has really effected you. Why do you have to buy a parking pass at work if you bus it in? That doesn't seem fair. Thanks for responding!

Its becoming more of a drain. Community-wise, there is more price searching and more crowds at the less expensive gas stations. The bad side is the waiting for such stations. Worse than that, local jurisdictions have (temporarily) shut down certain gas stations due to the effects: crowds, lines of cars spilling out onto the open roads, blocked traffic, increased potential for car accidents. I've also noted another rise in prices for grocery products due to trickle-down effects.

Yes I have also noticed the trickle down effect and rise in the price of groceries.

Yes it have affect me because as to were I know how much it would cost to fill up my gas tank every two weeks now I'm like in limbo and on top of that if messes up my budgeting now I have to go into my budgeting file and boost the cost of gas more and less something else like food list, misc items(like things for the house), and so much more. and especially I thing its such a pain is because i live where there are no buses and 1 or 2 cabbies and they have to go up on their prices too. So I try to keep my focus and pray that one this gas thing will go down. Oh and its just not the gas for yours cars either the gas that you pay for your homes are also sky rocketing.

Once my friend bought a scooter to work in the summer. He figured that the gasoline saved would cover the cost of the scooter in one summer. I also thought about riding the bike to work once a week. Save money and doing exercise. With the rising gas, people will drive less and pack more things-to-do in one driving.
