Can You Tell That Your Child Is Sick, Before They Are Actually Sick?

What I mean is do they give you little signs in themselves that make you think that they are coming down with something?
All my 4, before they are ill have a change in their breath!It is like a sour smell and they get it a day or two before they are actually ill. It is quite strange, on Friday just gone, I was playing with my daughter and I smelt her breath and I said to my husband, she is coming down with something, her breath is not right. He said she was fine, I think he thinks I am daft, then a little later she started being whingy, hubby said she was just tired. But on saturday she had a temperature and she was just totally off her feet. I did not say I told you so to my husband! So do you have any little telltale signs that you pick up on, that tell you that they are not quite right, if so what are they?

When i was pregnant with my middle daughter i had a allergic reaction to some medication i was taking for my hypertension. well i went into premature labor at 28 weeks, the doctors tried for days to stop it, but after three days i delivered. she was so tiny, she weighed 1pound 13 ounces. she was hospitalize for three months and everytime she had a setback i knew, i would be on my way home from a visit with her. and i'd get this gut feeling that something was wrong and would rush back. sometimes i can just look at my kids and know somethings wrong. trust that gut feeling it's god's way of forwarning us.

Gosh she must have been so tiny, I think when they are born so helpless you are more in tune to them than if they are born fine. I do go with my gut feeling about everything, I believe it is like a second sight that we do not know how to use properly, because mine is always right about everything.

Hi Gemini_Rose,
Mine have the exact symptom, breath that smells like medicine or a little sour like you describe it. It is so tell-tale! I taught my niece how to tell if her kids were getting sick too and she says it helps her so she is prepared. It's an interesting symptom.

Yes thats exactly it! It does prepare you, my daughter is now unwell but just seems to have a temperature that I cannot get rid of.
