Does anyone care about March Madness?

Now I'm not sure if people outside of America are familiar with what 'we' think of when we hear the term March Madness. It's college basketball time, when brackets are handed out and office pools are taken to see who gets the most teams right. Who will end up in the Sweet Sixteen? Who will be in the final Four? It's the Big Dance! For male and female basketball players it is their big stage. Me, I don't care so much. I might when it get to the end, and there are two teams left. But I don't get nearly as excited about it as so many people around here do. So tell me, as to what it pertains to in America, do you get excited about March Madness? Do you have a favorite college team?

I come from just outside Philadelphia and I'll be routing for Villanova.(The school is two towns away) I think Temple & St Josephs are also in this year. So, that makes three teams from the area. There's always at least one local team and March Madness is huge in this area.

I'm not a fan of basketball at all, so don't really get caught up in all the hoopla of March Madness. I usually do fill out as bracket online somewhere and hope for the best. Maybe I'll get really lucky one year and win a prize.

I don't! lol I think basketball is about my least favorite sport. I used to love it years ago. UNC was my favorite team (I'm from NC). At that time, some of the players were Charlie Scott, Larry Miller and D*ck Grubar. (Ok, myLot wouldn't let me use his full name, had to doctor it up). It's been a while. The only thing about basketball now that interests me is when it's going to be off the air so my regular TV shows will be on! lol

March Madness is awesome. Especially if you get into a bracket to earn money. Even if you don't enter a bracket for money it can still be fun to challenge your friends. GO IRISH!!!!!!

March Madness? I vaguely remember that term when I was married to to my ex. He is the only person I have ever known who cared about March Madness. He is a sports fanatic though.

Only thing I like about March is that it is the beginning of warmer weather to come. I am not into that March Madness at all I don't really enjoy the sports at all I am also lucky that my husband doesn't either so I don't have to listen to it. The only thing he likes to watch is wrestling which I also enjoy occasionally myself. But I live around a bunch of people who do follow it alot. Sorry.Have a nice night AmbiePam

I've heard of March Madness, but I thought it was a term used for sales at department stores and car dealers. I don't know or care anything about sports, unless my son is here, trying to get me interested in watching football.

Actually I don't. I really am not a fan of basketball but my sister on the other hand....well she is a great fan of basketball and if you asked her you would probably get all the stats! She is truly a Gopher's fan. The U Of Minnesota basketball team and my brother is also a fan as an graduate of the U of M.

Well, I'm from North Carolina, and most people around here really care about March Madness. The only people who don't are those whose teams suck, or total non-sports fans. It's mostly about being part of something bigger than yourself, and the fact so many good teams are in North Carolina. You work with and go to church with fans from other schools. My alma mater and favorite team are the UNC Tarheels. The ironic thing is, none of the starters are actually from North Carolina. We have, however, adopted them. :-)

Although I love basketball, and our girls teams are rated high in the tournament, I just don't care. Even when our men were in the final four, I only kind of enjoyed. Probably because I knew we'd never win. Now if I were at Duke or UNC I probably would feel differently. Every year people have hopes that are actually realistic. But logically, you're right, the only people who don't care are those whose teams are bad, or non sports fan. I guess they have to have a reason to care.

My husband is really into basketball, although he is more of a football fan, but he does lookf orward to March Madness. I think Arizona is a favorite team, so there will be some rooting going on. There are others, but I don't watch it as much, so to me it's as long as he enjoys it that's good.

I care about as much about basketball as I do about quantum physics. But living close to a college town for about 6 years I got the Maryland Terrapins beat into my head. I couldn't name you a single player or tell you where they are ranked this year but if I had to pick, that would be my team.
