photo sites

Has any one used the stock photo sites to make money? I have heard of some of the bigger names and some say that it is hard to make any money. I guess the photos have to be professional grade to make the cut. I was just wondering what peoples experiences have been with them and how hard it is to get approved. I am not a very technical person, so how hard is it to meet the specifications in file sizes and such to get approved?

I have an entire ebook on this, but have not really tried it that much. I signed up for a couple of places, but don't visit regularly or anything. I guess I have enough going on as it is.

Thanks for the post. I do that as well sign up for things and forget to go back to it. I am afraid the picture sites will be more than I am ready for. I might try one just to see if I can even get qualified to submit pictures. Thanks for the post.

I remember that I signed up for one and submitted a bunch of pics right then. I have a whole cd of celebrity pics. Some autographed and some not. Used to sell them on ebay. Anyway, they didn't accept any of them. I think that is why I didn't pursue it. I post pics on ehow and on here too.

There are several sites that do photos. I just don't know that much about them. How well they pay or how hard it is to get in with them. That is why I was asking. there is fotolia, dreamstime, shutterstock, istockphoto, bigstockphoto, and I am sure a whole bunch more that I have forgotten about or not found yet. Good luck and if you find out anything please let me know.
