This house is located in my back yard on part of our acre land where we live. The old owners of this house use to live in it. To me when I stare at it from my deck, I get an empty feeling. My hubby and I got curious about it one day and took a walk to it. We adventured inside to find it full of old belongings to I"m guessing the family who lived in there before. I took this picture last fall, and just found it and wanted to tell you about it. When we walked through it, there were abandoned birds nests and junk all over the place. Many holes in the walls. We wondered upstairs and noticed when we came up the steep steps, we approached one room and it was empty with just debree all over the place, and walked thru all of that, then came to an opening to another bedroom. When we entered that room, wow I got a feeling of lonelyness. I could just feel the memories of whoever lived there before. I wanted to quickly exit due to this bad feeling. This is not a place I see myself going into alone that's forsure. Although it was kind of neat going through everything, I would love to do this again in the upcoming summer, with someone with me of course.

That's a beautiful picture! I love looking through old abandoned houses or farms like that. I've found some really interesting stuff in them. One old farmhouse that I went through had some old German language newspapers from the 1920's. They were fascinating to read. However, you must be very careful when searching old houses. The floore and walls may be quite unstable. Please be extra careful if you go to a second floor and make sure the wood on the steps and floor joists are solid. You could get seriously injured! I agree that it's always an eerie feeling in those places, but I think that what makes it kind of fun. I would love to search that place with you again in the summer.... if only it was around here!

That's the word I was looking for... FUN! It's exciting but creepy all in one. We made sure it felt stable before we stepped anywhere so it was like taking the same step twice. I want to go back there when the weather is dry and the snow is gone just to take another look again. I wished you would be here too b/c I'm not going in there alone and we could get creeped out together and have fun of course!

That's the perfect expression for it... creeped out. It's fun for a little while. However, if I thought I saw a ghost or anything, I'd be running in the opposite direction as fast as my feet would carry me!

oooh. That's kind of eerie and cool at the same time! If you can figure out the address of that lot, you can look it up at the County Clerk's office and find the current owner. Then with that name you might be able to pull up some history on it. That would be neat if it had some interesting stories in its past. We have a neighbor that hasn't lived in his house for over a year now. We don't know what happened to him. Although we heard rumor that he was imprisoned for some domestic abuse issues. But no confirmation on that. The house just sits dormant next to us. Part of it looks like it's going to fall apart. There used to be a cat inside too. Not sure if his family took it.

Actually you don't even have to have the specific street address. If you just go to the County Clerk's office and explain the location, they can just look up the lot number on their maps.

Ok, I just re skimmed over your original discussion..lol. so you know who owned it. Check out the historical archives - there could still be some little know facts hidden away.

Awwwwwe poor little cat! Yeah this house I see everyday and I sometimes wished it wasn't there that way I wouldn't have to think about these things. It's my imagination that runs wild sometimes but that day my hubby and I walked through it was kind of fun but creepy thanks for your comments

feeling "weird" emotions from places really isnt so very weird. places hold the energy of those that brought life to them. me? id go there alone, and try to see what i saw/felt/ heard.. but im a bit weird anyways. nice pic tho.. expresses the loneliness you were talking about.

Thanks for your thoughts, I must say you're very brave if you can go into these places alone.. not me though.
