Design your own postage stamp

When you go to the post office now, often times they give you a choice of the stamp you would like to buy. They are coming out with more and more choices versus a famous figure being on them. If you could design your own postage stamp, what would you put on it?

I would make stamps that are taken from the Bible. This should not be faces of saints or of Jesus. My example would be the picture of heaven or an illustration of a particular event like the parting of the red sea.

I suppose if they did that, they would have to make stamps that catered to many religions.

If that's the case, I change my mind. I can't imagine myself using the last sort of stamp that may have idols or any false god on it. Anyway, the faces of our national heroes are still cool. But if a change has to be strictly implemented, I would rather put dinosaur breeds like stegosaurus.

It's probably already been done but I would design a stamp with a picture of a beautiful wolf on it and behind him a big full moon and he's howling and in front of him two little baby cubs all cute, I think people would buy that stamp wouldn't they? Wolfs are given such a bad name and they are beautiful creatures, so that's my personal stamp!

If that exact picture hasn't been done, at least something like it probably has, but I do really like your idea.

I used to be a stamp collector and I can tell you that there are a million stamps out there. Every country release about 50 new stamps every year... but you never see them... unless you are a stamp collector. Everything under the sun has been put on stamps. So it would be hard to come up with something new. I don't know if they still do it... but about 10 years ago... the Australian post had come up with a gimmick where you could order your very own stamp design. You would give them a photo or a drawing... and they would print for you any amount of stamps you wanted with that design. You can see some pictures of Australian Stamps on my website (bottom of right column)... follow the links.

I used to collect stamps also. My father started me doing it when I was in my teens, but it was short lived because it was more his passion than mine.

That'll be a good idea if I can decide my own stamp. I will use my photos as the stamps. So my friends can know the letters are from me. And it's better than a photo itself. Perhaps it can be worth a lot some years later as it's unique

sunset - sunset in Fiji
I think I would put beautiful photos taken of scenery around the world, have a set which includes the sunrise, daytome, sunset and night time too with different sets from different countries being available. Ellie:D

I love the photo you have included. I would love to use a postage stamp with that design.

I went to the Post Office yesterday and spent a whole £18 ($36) on one stamp. It was a plain preprinted monstrosity. For that price they should have given me a choice of renowned artists most famous paintings not only to stick on the package and the original to keep and hang on my wall too! You can buy sheets of differently printed stamps here, but if you want a choice you have to ask for one.

I don't know what I would put on my own postage stamp. But I do know that with some of the online print your own postage programs you can use your own pictures!I think that is really a cool idea!

I think a picture of my neice or nephew would be really neat. Or of a singer I like or a book writer would be cool or maybe even a movie star.

Wouldn't it be nice, if you could have a book of each one of them?

If I did it today it would have to be the sun with a nice ocean view due to the fact that I am sick of winter. Have a great day!
