The Colour of Magic the film is on this easter [em]thumbup[/em]

Wow... I wish I had Sky. I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. He's very clever and I would really like to see this film. I'm sure it will beat Harry Potter into a tin hat! lol. I don't think David Jason is too old for the part... in fact, I think he fits it quite well, but I'm not sure about the American... as I can't hear him speak. I guess it's best to watch and see if he can conquer the English accent well enough. I'll have to see whether my Son will record it for me, I think. Brightest Blessings.

Hmmmm. I just went back and watched the David Jason video clip, and the American Accent is there! It kind of spoils it, I think, but there you go! I'd still like to see it.

I wish I had as well, thanks to Richard Branson I don't. . btw it is an American actor playing Twoflower as an American tourist. I've always thought of Twoflower as a Japanese tourist and although I can see the point of making him American, it just doesn't seem right.

Yes, I discovered that since. I kept going back and watching different vids and reading different parts of it. Couldn't it have been an Irish, Scottish or Welsh tourist?

I just finished watching it a couple of hours ago on Sky. They also did a "The Making of The Colour of Magic" which was very interesting. I thought that they have adapted the book very well, given that you can't put everything in that's in the book and I think that David Jason as Rincewind works very well - he's supposed to be old he was a student at Unseen University for 40 years!

David Jason did do a top job and actually looked younger than he is but I've still got a mental picture of Rincewind as a bit younger. I thought the second part wasn't as good, it didn't have as much happening but as it's been quite a while since I read the light fantastic I can't remember what was missed out.

Oh my God! This is such a wonderful news! I am such a huge Discworld fan, but they never air the movies around here.. They only showed Hogfather this Christmas and I had no idea... I've seen the "Rock music" animated series on YouTube and I found some episodes of an animated "Wyrd Systers" but I haven't watched it yet. You are so lucky to have access to all the books... They only translated about 9 of them in Romanian and 3 of them are not to be found I'm reading "A hat full of Sky" right now and I hope they will make a movie after it and after "The Wee Free Men". Oh, by the way... When is your Easter? (I'm Othodox and I'm not sure if our Easter is the same day)

It's Sky that show them here, so only people with Sky will see it but my brother has Sky so he'll tape it for me. . I think they were thinking of doing 'The Wee Free Men' but I haven't heard anything. Just 9 of them, that's not good hope they translate more soon for you. Our Easter is this weekend but I don't pay much attention to it. I did when I was a child because of Easter eggs.

I've not got Sky and I don't know anyone who has so I'll just have to wait for it to come out on DVD, I haven't even seen "Hog Father" yet. It looks like a good cast and well made with good special effects I'm gutted I won't get to see it when they first show it, but they are bound to release it on DVD so I'll just have to be patient.

'Hogfather' was well made and the girl they cast as Susan couldn't have been better. I have high expectations for 'The Colour of Magic', as long as they keep the same high standards it will be good too.
