I love cooking but the main reason I love it is so I can feel good when my bf or other people eat it and enjoy it. The problem is however that my bf works different hours every week and since he works at a restaurant if he gets home late he is never hungry, so am not cooking as much as I would like to because of it. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

Why not cook for yourself Lizzy? I kind of agree with you though ,its not as interesting cooking for one!! MY Mum religiously cooks `properly` for herself everyday, thinking nothing of it!!....im a lover of one-pot meals..or things done in a wok! Throw it all in as you fancy it!!..but lol your b/friend being a chef may not agree with that sentiment!!

Ruby, When I was single I did cook just for my son and I, but since he is still a picky eater he won't always eat what I cook. Plus the biggest problem for me is I always cook in large quantities, for some reason I can't cook small :) so I waste a lot if I don't have my bf eat it too. Thanks for the advice.

Because your bf has different work hours, take it as an opportunity to perfect the dish you want to serve him. Try knowing your bf's favorite foods and learn to cook or prepare it well. Also avoid preparing foods which are also served in the restaurant he is working. When he comes home full, why not cook or prepare snacks or pica and serve cocktails drinks or other beverages. You can eat, relax and have some fun together.

Heart, I try to avoid cooking Italian foods more because that is what they serve. I have my staples that I think are very good dishes although I do like to try new recipes. I wish my son were a bit bigger then he would eat more of what I cook too but he is still in a picky age of eating. Thanks for the advice.

If you really enjoy cooking for his and others' enjoyment, maybe you should consider getting a job as a cook in the restaurant where he works! Then he will get the opportunity to eat your cooking while he is at work.

Thats a good idea only I am having his twins in two months so that wont work. Also he might have to quit that job soon anyway for a better one, hopefully the new job will have more set hours. Thanks for the idea.
