Do you keep your family member's secret or go to the police?

I was reading a book of a supposed "true" crime and one of the family members said he couldn't go to the police because it was his cousin? If you knew of a crime or a piece to the puzzle of a crime commited by a close family memeber would you go to the police or keep to yourself?

Well if it was a serious crime and it could help the police solve the puzzle then yes I would. No one should cover up a crime no matter what. Family or no family.

I would go to the police because he should be punished and plus I'd hate to get arrested for with holding information.

I guess it would just depend on what the crime was and how serious it was. You can only cover up for people so much and if its a horrible thing they have done then I would not be able to live with myself if I knew something, kept it to myself and then that person went out and did something even worse.

I think your right if they did do something worse then the guilt would be horrible knowing it could have been prevented.

If i was asked yes i would do it because i myself could go to jail for witholding information... now if i wasn't even thought of... it is possible I may just keep quiet... unless it was a crime where i would be feeling guilty for not saying something.... I sound like a witch but I like staying out of prison/jail myself, if that person did a crime they sure as heck deserve to get ratted out. My family knows what's right and wrong, so I'd call the police ... i actually did on my brohter, because if i didn't i'm sure he would ahve seriously injured my father or mother.
