The McCartney/Mills divorce. Should we all just LET IT BE?

What do you of the divorce settlement in the McCartney/Mills case? And what about the comments that the judge making the ruling had to say about Heather?
Personally, I think the amount she was asking for was ridiculous. And I question her sincerity on many levels. But I am not sure that I feel some of this information should have been allowed out to the media.
Copied from news article:
Heather Mills was a less than candid court witness whose $250 million divorce claim was exorbitant, a judge said in his ruling on her divorce from Paul McCartney.
The judgment by Hugh Bennett was released Tuesday, after a court rejected Mills' attempt to block publication.
On Monday, Bennett awarded Mills a $48.6 million divorce settlement after her four-year marriage to the former Beatle. Mills had sought almost $250 million, while McCartney had offered $31.6 million, including Mills' own assets.
In his ruling, the judge said Mills' claim "is and was unreasonable, indeed exorbitant."
He also said Mills' evidence was "not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid. Overall she was a less than impressive witness."

So good to see you my lovely friend - I do hope all is well with you?
To be honest i am sick of hearing about their divorce on the tv and online news - luckily I haven't read a real newspaper for a while so I haven't gotten irritated there! lol I do think though that Heather Mills has been largely responsible for most of the coverage and for the contempt with which she is viewed by most of the British public! I agree that it takes 2 to make a marriage work and there are 2 sides of every story but I honestly believe she has been a manipulative and nasty money grubber and it has back fired on her completely! Imagine only getting £35 thousand a year for her daughter - that is more than my whole family survive on and she has the gall to stand on the courthouse steps and complain to the media about it? Please! I for one would be happy if I never heard her name again but my guess is she will keep trying to stir up publicity and keep herself in the limelight. xxxxxx

So good to see you too, my dear mummymo. Things have been a little hectic with me. I will personal message you about it. How are you, sweets? Is your back any better?
Thanks for the response. I'm with you, I'd be fine never hearing her name again.

I certainly am not acquainted with these people, but I'm always amazed at the greed in some people. My gosh..I worry about scraping together enough money each month to pay my rent and food bills. Like so many of us do. Of course we don't know the whole story. Maybe McCartney was a jerk to her, I don't know. I guess she didn't sign of those "prenupts." I would've been thrilled with the 31.6 million...I would've been thrilled with 1 million! And a house, maybe. Jeez...right now I'd be thrilled with 5,000...so I could get a car! I wonder if McCartney will get married again? Wouldn't blame him if he didn't. I guess the rich have their problems, too, don't they?

I hear you, makena. I can't even imagine having the kind of money that they say he is worth. I believe it is like $800 million.
Are you serious that you are not acquainted with them? He is Paul McCartney of The Beatles.

To be honest I am sick of hearing all about it, now I hear that Paul is off with some other woman I just hope that we don't go all through it again with her! I am not interested who gets what and of course there is the mudslinging, but should we care? Just because they are celebrities. No party is to blame and it shows a nasty vindictive side to both of them, half a dozen of one and half a dozen of the other. Does it really matter to us what she gets out of the settlement and who gets what? I don't think so but sadly it sells!

When I first read about their divorce I was amazed that she'd even ask for that much. It just seems like she was looking to get rich off the divorce. I think the judge still awarded her too much but at least it's better. Some ppl think that just b/c they marry someone famous that their entitled to profit from them if they divorce.

I think she was stupid to go in and represent herself in such a big and high profile case, if she'd had the right advice maybe her evidence would have been more convincing. I do think she asked for way to much and she'll be able to make millions out of having been married to McCartney anyway so she should just be happy with that. She claimed he stopped her working in America and therefore making millions, now she can go and do it so what's she complaining about.
I do feel sorry for her in a way because the guy she was divorcing is a very well loved man in the UK and any judge is bound to be a fan of his or at least know who he is so what they say about him and her isn't really fair. But on the other hand she's millions of pounds richer than any of us now so I don't think we need to feel too sorry for her.

I think Mills is a gold digger who should have left with what she brought into the marriage. Why should she profit off of the hard work Paul did for the majority of his life when she was only there for a few years?!
I just love how she tried to block the publication of the details. Something to hide, my dear? Hmmm????

Yes, it was her trying to block it all that makes me question her sincerity.
