Which finger do you use? Are you causing wrinkles?

Did you know that when you apply eye creams or wash the skin around the eyes that you should only use the ring finger? This finger has the fewest muscles and therefore it exerts the least pressure on the skin. The skin under the eye is very, very thin and fragile. To use other fingers can exert too much pressure and over time may stretch the skin, leading to wrinkles! Which finger do you use?

No I have not heard of this, maybe that is why I have noticed some new wrinkles just lately,
I know it is a really sensitive area and that you are supposed to just pat cream onto it. I will give it a go try and stop these lines going any further.

I learned this nugget of information about using only the ring finger when I was just a teenager. So I have been careful since then about doing it properly. I try to be very gentle when doing anything around my eyes.

Wow, I have never heard that before! I had never really thought about which finger would be the best to use, but that makes total sense now that you've mentioned it. I usually use my first two fingers, so I will have to try to get in the habit of using my ring finger instead from now on. I don't want to get wrinkles any sooner than I have too! hehe Thanks for the tip!!

well isn't that interesting, I don't pay attention, but I am pretty sure it would be my index finger which is likely the strongest finger on the hand.. I am sitting here rubbing my flesh under my eye with my ring finger now, and you are right - it is light and gentle. oooo.

Gee, I didn't know that, but it makes perfect sense when it's explained. I've just always used my index finger, though I try and use a light touch. Huh! Learn somethin' new every day. I'll have to try doing it with the ring finger. Thanks for letting us know. (ps: I don't know if this is going to post twice, it looks like the first write didn't go through, so I tried it again lol)
