Something is better than nothing..

Sometimes I am just not energetic enough to do a full blown work out, and I think it's best not to exercise real good when I don't feel up to it b/c I could hurt myself. However lately what I've tried to do is just do SOMETHING. I figure right now if I'm doing some slow pleas while I type, and a few jogging in place moves while I wait for it to save, that something is better than nothing. I think that even doing a little bit is better than sitting on my butt all night. What do you guys do to keep semi-active even when you really don't feel up to it. Do you work your butt off anyway and just try not to hurt yourself? Do you do a quick 10 min hardcore workout? Or do you just try to do SOMETHING to get your body moving. Just do anything for as long as you can stand it? I feel like I can keep semi-active in this way for hours. Whereas I know if I tried to work out right now I'd do 10 minutes or less and then quit. I've heard before that the long haul is what matters and short exercises do not have as much impact. Do you agree with this?

As for me, I think I should first have strong will to exercise and confirm that I will be full of energy it.As long as I don't feel up to it, I will listen to energetic music and move accomponying with the rhythm. It really works! Besides, I will not feel tired and do more than usual. You can try it. God luck!

You know that does work! When I'm watching TV and a commercial comes on with real fast music, I do feel the urge to move! I should just pop in a CD when I feel blah and I bet it will turn things around. Thanks for the tips!!

Hi Vivasuzi... I believe you are right, something is better than nothing. For me, if I am not energetic, I usually just go do some fast paced walking. This usually gets my energy level up and I implement a few exercises in as well. Sometimes you just need to change your workout and do something new to find that energy again. I have read that 3 10 minute intervals a day is better than doing nothing at all, so go ahead and do your lite workout. Anything is better than nothing at all! Good luck!

Thanks for the info :) I guess it just feels like if I can't do a full hour of running or something that I'm not really "working out". But if I want to reach my goals and get in shape by vacation, I've gotta do something. I just wish I felt more results when doing a lite workout, like just feel a little sweaty or a little muscles getting worked out. I do feel a tiny bit, but it goes away faster than when I do a real work out!

Any form of physical exercise that can keep you fit is good as long as you can do it regularly. You don't need to do it "hardcore" as you said but I appreciate you for doing something to exercise. Keep fit, keep strong, and keep it up!

Thanks for the support! I always feel like if I'm not seriously sweating that I'm not doing anything. But then again I have been on my feet running around on and off for almost an hour, whereas if I did an exercise program it's rare I make it a full hour. I think it's also a problem of distraction. Tonight I just want to play on mylot! So by playing on mylot and taking breaks to run a lap around the house, at least I am getting a little of both things I want right now :)
