Are you a mapquest convert?

Do you still use your fold-up map and/or atlas or have you converted to mapquest? I mapquest my route but still keep my atlas in my car! Of course, I imagine that in the next few years GPS units will make both the atlas and mapquest obsolete! What about you, are you a mapquest convert?

Yes, and I have been for years. It's easier to fold up. :) It is inaccurate at times, but I really haven't had too many issues and no major ones. Hubby had a GPS on his iphone (I think it was on that) before he had to return it for technical issues, and the GPS was spot-on right down to the next intersection and moment he got to it...it was awesome...and kind of weird, actually.

I use Mapquest when I'm looking up an address and to get the general idea of how to get there. Last time I used Mapquest to the letter, there was major construction on the road and I had to detour twice to get around it. Would be nice if Mapquest was up to date on roadwork. I also keep a map in the car, thank goodness - one of those city maps that are in book form? Couldn't do without it.

I use map quest constantly to see how far away someplace is or how long it will take to get there. I frequently print out or jot down directions from map quest and still will use a map or atlas in the car...lol I would love to have a GPS unit but they aren't very cheap to buy...lol I like looking at the different kinds of maps too..lol Brightest Blessings, Mari

I use it once in a while, but twice it has told me to turn right when I was really supposed to turn left, so I take the directions with a grain of salt! I just don't trust it!!

One time, Mapquest gave me directions to a job interview in Texas and the road they gave me was a dirt road that led into a corn field! SERIOUSLY!!

I Hate mapquest. They are always wrong. I got lost on 2 trips following directions from mapquest. I tested it to see if it was just me by getting directions to a place where I knew the way. The map quest directions were wrong. I'll stick with my trusty road map.

I do use mapquest however I don't completely rely on it. IT has been proven to be wrong. On long trips me and my boyfriend use the GPS unit in the car. It has been right everytime we have used it. Even when we had no idea where we were in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Tennessee it always knew. It's nice to have that piece of mind.

Oh yeah! I'm definitely a convert lol. I still keep an atlas at home and in the car, but I use mapquest for zooming in for the area where I have to get off the freeway to make the final lap of where I'm going. I even used it once while my daughter was on the road trying to find this one hospice place she was to visit. She had been given wrong directions and while she was driving I zoomed in on the area and told her how many streets to count till she had to turn. She was SO grateful since it was in a really bad area of town. I think it's a great thing to be able to look up things on it. So many times a regular map doesn't show the smaller side streets, and important markers like that. (And that's quite often just when you really need them!)
