Internet withdrawals... do you get them?

I think my husband is having internet withdrawals since his laptop went on the blink while away in South Africa a few weeks back. He even got another one from work when he returned and it seems that isn't working very well either. He spent all of last night trying to fix it only to find it was a hardware issue and has returned it to work to get fixed. He has been in and out of our room over the last few hours asking if he can use my laptop and I keep telling him "I'm almost done, won't be long and then it's all yours." It's almost American Idol time so I'm logging off and giving him the laptop for the night. I hope I don't shiver and shake while I'm offline because I get withdrawals too. Night Y'all!

LOL poor hubby! I am the same way myself! There are times when I don't sign in as I am not up to it but at least my laptop is there! Twice in the last few weeks I have been withwithout my laptop for a whole day and it wasn't even in the house! It was awful and I really hated it, the fact that it wasn't there ate away at me the whole time! xxx

haha Yup I know the feeling too. I get withdrawals if I don't have access to one. I can probably go without it for one day but then the next day I am anxious to get online. By the way, he had the day off today, but because he received an email from his work colleague that there was another one ready for him, we drove all the way into town to get it LOL talk about addicted! LOL thanks mummymo!

I had no idea this was such a widespread experience. I try so hard to give it a break so that my mom and sis dont get on my case but its sooooooooo hard. Just this mornin I had a bit of ice over my eyes and mom went.... "you not giving your eyes a break?" Last nite she got up, came to door and went....."come on man, go to your bed now. Give the thing a break." They just dont get it.

haha nope they don't get it! I bet if they found something interesting online I'm sure they would find it hard to pull themselves away from it. He now has a new laptop from work that we went to pick up today. He had the day off because of a few doctor appointments but as soon as he got the email to say he had another one, we drove all the way into town to get it LOL too funny! Thanks for your response and welcome to Mylot!

I won't allow anyone to break my sanity! LOL! Just my loud naughty self. Well, I don't get them. My kiddie visitors sometimes make me withdraw from it. I love kids running and scattering everything in my place, that makes me withdraw from my internet cyber journey!

I never thought I would be a person that would get all crazy if the internet was down or something, but I totally get like that if something happens to the web. We tend to have alot of problems with our provider and the service will go out on a whim. I get so bored and keep wondering what I would be doing if I was on the internet. I am online nearly everyday. The internet is so addictive that you can't help but freak a little when it's gone. Ha ha.

It means you're not as addicted as my husband is hahaha. He actually has another laptop now so is happy doing his thing on his own laptop so I don't have to share. However, I share with my son anyways so all is good :)

I often wonder what I used to do before I got my laptop. I am so addicted to the internet and I do absolutely everything on it from social networking to buying all my clothes, food, do my banking, pay my bills....everything. I remember years back it was predicted that people could work from home or get everything they need without leaving their home. I just laughed at this, I am not laughing anymore, just rubbing my hands together as I no longer have to visit all the boring shops or queue for hours at the bank. I hope you didn't shake and shiver too much..LOL

I am afraid I do not use internet withdrawals as of now at least. Hardware problems in laptops are a real headache, they can be hard to detect and hard to fix, and they can be fatal too! Better safe than sorry

Well you're lucky then Rozie. He was also lucky as I fell asleep after AI LOL. I must of been really tired, mind you my allergies have been playing up bigtime, my eyes are puffy and I can't stop sneezing. I need to get a stronger allergy pill or medicine to take.

Withdraws , fits, anger, anxiety attack, heart faliure, spaz, mad,not a happy camper lol these are all words that discribe me when I have no internet , or access to a computer. I thank god I dont have to share with anyone cause if i had to wait on my husband to finish I would never get to use the computer. just knowing it is there if I want it is a very calming ,soothing relaxing place for me lol.

Lol, that's addiction - assuming he does not have any real NEED for the internet. I understand perfectly. I was in such a phrase myself some 10 years back and I almost wished I just melded with the machine. I am glad that I am in control now.

He is addicted. He had today off and got an email from his work colleague that he has another laptop for him and will leave it on his desk for him to pick up tommorrow. Guess what we did this afternoon? we drove all the way into town to his work JUST to get that laptop. Now how desperado is that? LOL too funny. We did take a walk around town and sorts but still, I thought it was a bit over the top and he could of waited till tommorrow. He is now comfortable lying down on the couch with his work laptop and very happy Now I get to have my laptop all to myself haha!
