Walk with me into the darkness Leave behind your small safe world Take my hand and let me show you The existence of this broken girl If you walk with me just now You can enter my deepest soul If you open your eyes, you'll see What keeps me from being whole If you turn on your flashlight To banish the darkness in which I live I'll know you can't be my friend I'll know there's nothing you have to give I can't visit you in your bright world So you have to come to me; I'll forgive you if you can't.

This is really good, lecanis and if I could, I would go into your dark world, only to bring you into the light..

That's one way of looking at it, yes. I guess the way I see it is that the darkness is a part of me, and it's not something I WANT to go away. I don't want to change my entire being and personality, even if it meant being in less pain or being more normal or whatever. I like me, even the darker parts of me.

That is very insightful, because a lot of times, in order to be free from pain, we have to experience being uncomfortable.. For example, a cut as it heals, it itches, and sometimes feels like a burn, but when it is over, the pain is forgotten..

If you are writing these for the first time now at the moment you are posting them then all I have to say is get out of my head. Or on the other hand, don't. It is nice having someone in there who can rationalize my feelings and thoughts into words. All I am seeing is red and all I am hearing is the sound of my own heart beating in my ears.

I find it funny (not haha funny, but ironic funny) that in my real every day life I hate the majority of women I come in contact with yet on here I have been able to connect with women all across the world as well as the continent in ways that some of the people closest to me could never even hope to come close to. You are very creative. Keep up the good work and just maybe I won't go to jail for premeditated murder before the month is over.

You know, I have the same situation. I don't really relate to women all that well offline, except for the few I meet that like me don't fall into all the stereotypes. Yet, online, I have lots of female friends now. It's amazing how that works. I sure hope you don't wind up in jail, I doubt they'd let you mylot there.

I loved this Lecanis, especially as it reflects the reality that for people to be friends they have to accept the whole package and not just the bits that will benefit them, which sadly is the case most of the time. I should send this to someone I know to get it through to them that friendship does not just mean..help me and when you are finished I will forget you till next time.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked my poem. That's very well said! It's sad how sometimes people take friendship for granted that way.

Lecanis! This is the best yet! I got chills when I read it because, not to say that I have been through worse than you, it's me. I don't have any friends who have been through what I have and when I talk about it, which isn't very often, they either change the subject or reply something that lets me know they just don't get it.

*nods* That's exactly how I feel! And sometimes you have to talk about it, or you have to explain to someone how your past affects your present self when you've acted in a certain way, and no one can stand to hear or think about it. It makes it hard to be close to people, when they don't want to hear or can't accept what you've been through. I'm glad this one touched you.

That is an interesting piece. I am trying to understand it. You are inviting someone into your world. That means you are accepting someone enough to allow your boundaries to be lowered. Hmmm... sounds like a poem of someone in love. But the love is to someone who has a history and a past. Interesting! Keep them coming Lecanis!

This is a good one. Almost seems reflective of the writer in my view. However I think the writer is significantly lighter... sometimes lighter than this responder here. This also reminds me of darker characters in anime and novels. "Where you go... I cannot follow... I've turned away from the light And followed a path you could never know."

Hmmm, that's an interesting way of looking at it. I see myself, and the path I walk, as somewhat dark... but there are definitely parts of me that hold light. I see it as a softer light though... bright lights hurt my eyes (literally) and a part of that carries over into how I see myself. Eh, it makes me think of some of the darker characters too, now that you mention it. It's nice to see you here. *hugs*

My poetry interpretation is a bit rusty, so I apologize if I get this wrong. I think it's saying something like: Step into my world, take a walk in my shoes. To truly know how I feel, you must know my experiences. Know and except me the way I am and do not make light of my pain or you are not really my friend. But if you can not find the means to understand the depths of my pain, then all is forgiven, I understand.....ok, I'm probably way off, but I like your poem anyway. It is very deep.

I don't think you're way off. In fact, you got it. It's basically an invitation to a friend to take a closer look and understand my life instead of just looking at the surface, and offering forgiveness in advance if that's something they can't do. I'm glad you liked my poem.
