The bible what does it mean?

Hi I was wondering if there were any mylot users out there that could explain the meaning of these passages to me that are from the bible. I am not a religious person but I am trying to understand the bible though. Is there a certain passage in the bible that you like and if so tell me what it means to you and help me understand why you believe in it the way that you do. Revelation 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20:14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Hell was prepared not for mankind, but for the devil and his angels. However, there are some men that totally refuse to have anything to do with God. Their fate will be the same as the devil's. However, it was NEVER God's intention for mankind to end up in the lake of fire or hell. As the Bible says in 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. When we die, we will go to heaven or hell not by how we lived or what we did with our lives, but based entirely on where WE CHOSE to go. God will not send you to hell for being a bad person. It is not God's desire to send anyone to hell. Those that go to hell will go there only because they have absolutely refused to have anything to do with God. Then the question is: If believing in Jesus is the only way out, what about the people that never heard of Jesus, how can they be blamed for that and sent to hell. What if they lived in a place where they never had the opportunity to hear about Jesus. What happens to them? The Bible is not specific on this. However, my personal opinion is this. I know that God is a just and fair God. Therefore, I know that he would not send someone to hell just because they never had the opportunity to hear the gospel. And I don't think God would make a bunch of exceptions for this or that based on each person's reasons because if that were so, the Bible would say so. Every Christian also has people they know like their parents, sisters and brothers, wife or husband, or children or grandchildren that are not saved. If that was me, and I was the only one that went to heaven and most of my relatives went to hell, do you think for one minute that I could be happy in heaven knowing that they are burning in eternal fire? No way. I would go to God and say "God what happened? You yourself said that "the arm of the Lord is not too short that they can't be saved" Why didn't you do it. If that's how it turns out then hell would have far more occupants than heaven. And I would say to God, "What happened?" You are God, Almighty and Powerful. You have most of the angels. You have Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit, you have the Bible, and you have Christians here on earth witnessing for you, and yet the devil who has much less power, and a rag tag army of fallen angels and demons, ended up with more people than you did. How can this be? And then what about babies that die, what about the mentally challenged, and others like that. Do they all deserve to go to hell? That's why I don't believe that's how it will be. I don't believe for one minute that God will let the devil win. God is much bigger than that. God will present the opportunity for every person to chose whether they want to go to heaven and be with God or to hell to be with the devil. Those that respond to Him now and accept Jesus now have a much better life now and they also are assured that they will have eternal life with God in heaven. Those that don't or those that never had the opportunity will have that opportunity later. The only scripture that anyone who doesn't believe this uses is this one. Hebrews 9:27 ...man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment... They say that man can only accept Jesus in this life because man is destined to die and then face judgement, therefore if he didn't accept Jesus before he died, tough luck. This is why some believe they have to "save the world" or else many many people are going to go to hell. I really don't believe that is how it is going to happen. I believe God has a plan to offer salvation to everyone. My friend Mark once said it best when we were debating this issue. He said "When you die and stand before God to be judged (as Hebrews 9:27 says) and God says to you. Here is your choice. You can serve me and enter heaven, or you can serve the devil and go to hell" Who wouldn't chose heaven. I believe that something like this will happen. Maybe not exactly, but I certainly don't believe that millions of people will be burning in hell for eternity. I don't believe it because I don't think even God could stand the sight of that. God is a winner and the devil is a loser. God wants us to spend eternity with him in heaven, the devil wants us to spend eternity with him in hell. I believe that God will win. Philippians 2:10-11 ...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord... I believe God will make this happen.....somehow. He will make it known to all peoples that Jesus Christ is who he said he was, the Son of God who paid the price for mankind's sin and is now the rightful ruler on heaven and earth. It has not happened yet, but it will. Revelation 14:6-7 Then I saw another angel flying in mid air and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth to every nation, tribe, language, and people. In the end days God will send an angel to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples on this earth. He will fly through the air speaking in every language so that all peoples will be able to understand him. He will fly over every country, city, village, and farm and proclaim the gospel so that all peoples will have one last opportunity to accept Jesus as their Saviour, turn to God, and be saved. God knows that we will never be able to get the job done, there are many countries today where the gospel of Jesus Christ is not preached due to persecution and some places because it is illegal and they would kill you if you did. But God always provides a way..... 1 Peter 3:18-19 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all were saved.... When God asked Noah to build an ark because it was going to rain and flood waters would fill the earth, many people of the day laughed at him. One reason was that at that time it had never rained, a mist would come out of the ground to water the whole earth. So they didn't believe that it would rain. They also had no interest in serving God. If you read the story you know that it happened just like God said it would, and only Noah, his sons and their wives, eight people in all were "saved" and the rest of the people perished. It took Noah about 125 years to build the ark, so the people had plenty of time to turn to God. Yes, God did wait patiently for them, but in the end, they still refused. Peter makes reference to this and says that Jesus went to those people who were being kept in "prison" and "preached to them". What do you think he preached? And why would he preach to them? Was it to tell them that he was the Son of God who died for their sins and that if any of them wanted to accept him as their Lord and Saviour they could be forgiven and saved and spend eternity with him in heaven? Is this what he may have preached to them. And if so, then does this mean that he preached to dead people offering them a second chance? And if he did that for them, would he do it for other dead people? If you can think outside the box for just a bit you can see that it starts to make sense. God always gets things done......

While on earth we choose to accept Christ Or to reject him. If we accept Him before we die, we go to heaven to await the day of judgment, then spend eternity in paradise (the new earth). If we refuse Him, then die, we go to hell to await judgment, then are sent to spend eternity in the lake of fire.

The bible states that only 144 people will descend into heaven so why does everyone think that they will get into heaven for if it says that only 144 people will get in, does everyone else get reincarnated?

The book of revelation teaches us that all Who accept Christ will go to heaven but only 144,000 will live in the new Heaven. The rest will spend eternity on the new earth (also called paradise). Read Revelation Chapter 7 and chapter 21
