It was brought up in another discussion that we wished there was a calculator for determining what amount of stimulus tax rebate one can expect to receive....
good news. there is one.
http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/
click on that link to go to the economic stimulus payment calculator
it takes only a few moments to punch in the correct numbers to find what your rebate will be.
I am happy with what it told us (but not if it is only an advance on next years taxes)
With a $1000 car repair (head gasket) it will sure come in handy!

It's good that you found this!
I went through the motions and I have to say that I am intrigued by what it told me; although I wonder what effect this will really have. I mean, I know these are going to bills and debts for my wife and I. In fact, I saw a poll from not too long ago that said that a gross majority of people will be doing the same thing rather than spending money... we'll have to wait and see.
But thanks for the link!

I know, I think the majority of the recipients will be doing the same, paying down bills - of course there will be many who will spend it on treating themselves. paying bills and needed repairs seems like a treat to me haha!
you are welcome for the link , and thank you for viewing and replying to this discussion!

I didnt know that the government ever put things like this up. It is interesting. We are buying a new car in April and having a little extra cash will be nice to help us get ahead on the payments.
