You have been invited to a fancy dress party

What are you going to wear. For myself, I rather fancy an 18th Century court costume with a huge hat with a long peacock's feather in it. Perhaps a turquoise jacket and matching breeches all inlaid with the finest silver threads. White silk stockings and black shoes with silver buckles. What a dandy. So what will you choose?

One of my daughters is off to a fancy dress in two weeks time and she is wearing a saucy sailor outfit. I have in the past worn a medieaval (prob spelt wrong) costume to a banquet I went to and a parmedics outfit to another, thats my helping people bit coming out I suppose. Don't really do fancy dress that much but I met Batman and Robin a few weeks ago oh and Mr. Freeze on there way to one. If I was invited to one now I would probably go for something simple and comfortable to wear so Alice in Wonderland. Ellie :D

A year or so ago my daughter had a fancy dress party and it was extremely bad for my heart. Saucy sailors, nurses and brides. Makes the pulse race. Batman and Robin always remind me of that Fools and Horses episode.

That was the best episode I think, loved it can watch it over and over. I have just started a discussion asking for boy fancy dress themes beginning with the intitial 'J' I have thought of the Joker, jockey and Jester so far so any input would be good either here or on discussion. Cheers. Ellie :D

Hi Thanks for your input on other discussion, think you were right about boys dressing as girls cos another one just suggested a Jezebel, wouldn't have to wear much other than make up and a smile and maybe some undies so they didn't get arrested! LOL. Ellie :D

I have a large collection of costumes which I have made over the years so I have no problem with finding an outfit. the problem i have is chosing an outfit :-) One of my favourites is a purple velvet medieval gown with long hanging sleeves and a lack up back.

That sounds very glamourous. Did you mean lace up or lack of back. Either way it is very appealing. I find medieval costume very attractive. The male cod piece has to be the ultimate conceit item though! LOL. Thank you.

I would wear a middle east inspired outfit. Something a bellydancer would wear just with these flowing pants instead of a skirt. And with the mouth veil and the hair veil....uiiii that would be so flowy and nice to move and dance in.
