When making new friends, what do you think is good "ice breaker?"

I think when you meet people for the first time and you would like them to be your friend, the first impression is so important. I believe that if you can make them laugh, that really breaks the ice then I find conversation is much easier after everyone has had a good laugh.
What do you think when making new friends, how do you break that awkwardness? Do you crack a joke, compliment them, invite them for a drink.....?? 1 response

I believe the best way to resonate with some one strange and ne to you is to engage them in a conversation that covers both your home area and the new persons, from there, you need to show your are helpful, pick out a few tasks for the new person-in the process you will probablymake him/her laugh, and when you get there, you are probably good friends already
