selling tactics!!!

it was a market day in our place i went to get some vegetables..and one man i giving ticket for free pepper paste,,so on my curiousity i went there..i join some other womens litening the ladys sales talk..they are giving free pepper paste,green tea facial scrabs,etc..then they ask each one of use to taste the red ginseng...finally the lady ask the man to give me a plastic bag..and the man ask me to follow him at the back..then suddenly he ask my number and address,then my identification plus money for down payment..i ask about the downpayment coz i never buy any thing..the man show me the bag with ginseng and it cost $480dollars..i was so shocked..but i didnt take it,,have you experience this kind of selling tactics?
