Camaro or Mustang?

It's that time of year again where the weather is just starting to get nice. Slowly but surely, the sportscars are hitting the road again. Would you rather have a Chevy Camaro or a Ford Mustang? For those of you who don't want either, why? Depending on which car you want (or both), support your answer! I want to know why you want it.
I decided to start this discussion because my younger brother and I are rivals, in a way, on this particular subject. A couple years ago, he bought a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. He bought it brand new because the dealership was selling new vehicles with no-interest loans. My dad worked for Ford at the time, so he got a nice discount also. Last July (2007), I paid cash for a 1996 Chevy Camaro RS. I joke with my brother that my car is better than his (even though his is newer than mine) because mine is paid off and he'll still be paying for his for another two or three years.
I believe there are advantages and disadvantages of each vehicle. The Mustang is a classic that's been around for a while. Same with the Camaro, but it was discontinued for a while. I believe they're bringing it back, though. Please share your thoughts!

Both are really nice cars, which makes it a hard choice, normally I would say Chevy because I am a Chevy guy,and do not like Ford, but I do like the Ford Mustang, and I also like the Chevy Camaro,so I am torn between the two,and I can understand why you and your brother have a rivalry, just like Ford and Chevy probably have a rivalry, but if I have to choose I would go with the Camaro because it is an older model if I am reading your discussion right, which makes it a little better lol.

Hi there! I'm glad to see your response to this discussion since you obviously know your cars and a lot about them! I love the Mustang, but that new Camaro absolutely blows it again. It's probably a fantasy of mine, but I have a goal of buying the new 2010 Camaro when it comes out next year or the year after. Where I'm coming up with money to buy the car in the first place and then insure it, I have no idea...but I guess that's the best part...it's a dream of mine. It'll become a goal once I start seeing the money come to support that dream! (LOL) It probably sounds crazy, but that's what I'm planning on doing. I'm starting my own home business with tons of potential, so I can see it happening in the near future. Perhaps I have really high expectations for it, but it'll make it all worth it once I reach those goals! Sorry for rambling, but thanks for your response. It was just what I wanted to read! Take care, friend.

I know Ford car is best but do not have any idea about Chevy Camaro RS car. As your brother is rival of you, I guess you have purchased better car than him and without loan or any mortgage. Your car's make is latest and so I guess your one is better. We use Toyota in our country mostly - there are Suzuki, Chevrolet, Mutsubishi, Ford, Mercedes Benz. Above all Toyota is best brand here we buy. Toyoka Noah is use mainly for long journey and official use.

Thanks for your comment! I like Chevy and Ford, but I think I got the better deal for the reasons you mentioned. Mine is completely paid for. My brother still has 2 or 3 more years until his car is paid off. It's not even worth as much as he paid for it anymore. That's the said part! I really like Toyota also! I'm glad you mentioned that because if I don't buy a Ford car next, I'm going to buy a Toyota Scion tC. Have you heard of this? It's a small car that you can customize before ordering and before your car is even built. It's an amazing vehicle and great price. Very popular. I have a while until I buy a new car, though. I don't want to end up in my brother's situation. I want to pay cash and completely pay off my next car as I've always done. My fiance and I really like Toyota, so I agree with you. I'm glad you have nice cars in your country. Thank you for your interesting response!

Thanks, Polly! I was very excited when I saw you had responded to this discussion. I'm honestly very surprised that more people haven't responded to this discussion. Perhaps there aren't many people as interested in cars as I am. (LOL) Nonetheless, thank you for your response. I suppose I don't expect you to have a preference between the two having not driven either. I actually haven't driven a Mustang, but definitely rode in one (my brother's, of course) not too long ago. I drove my Camaro to work today, and what a good feeling it was! (LOL) Your assignment is to go test drive both a Mustang and a Camaro and then revisit this discussion with a report in what you think of them. (LOL) They say that if you actually test drive a vehicle, it's more likely that you will end up buying it. I don't know how true that actually is since I've never bought a car new before, but I'm sure I'll have that experience sometime in the future. Of course, I know how to say "no" if I don't like what I see. Thanks again for your response, Polly! It was fun to read.
