Will you spend this Easter weekend rewatching "The Passion of the Christ?" It was such a wonderful portrayal of the crucifiction that it becomes a great reminder of what this weekend celebrates. My two daughters are finally of an age where I think they will get something out of it, so it will be their first time to watch it. Do you watch it every year? Do you try to show it to people who may never have seen it? Tell your stories of this powerful movie.

I have seen this movie and I would never allow a child to watch it. If people want to watch it, then they can do it on their own. I don’t believe forcing anything on other people. Although it is a good story it is a bit over the edge for most people to swallow, not because of the religion but because it is a strong, graphic story. I think it is an accurate description of the historical Jesus and should not be listed as religious propaganda.

Out of curiosity, why are your kids asking to see this very adult movie?

They have read the story in the Bible several times. They also know that it is the central story to the Christian religion. Since Jesus has had such an affect on their lives, they want to see the story as close to real as it was. Remember, it is only a "very adult" movie in that the event is portrayed as close to the way it was as has ever been done before. The story is a story for everyone.

Before I can re-watch it, I would have to watch it. I don't seem to do a whole lot of movie watching these days...or at least not anything longer then a 30 minute TV show. I think it would be a nice thing to do, but somehow I am too tired from working.

We watch it a few times during lent.... it is good especially on Good Friday. We do not watch it after Good Friday however. The whole of lent we meditate on the sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary only - and the movie The Passion of the Christ is pretty much like praying the sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary.
