Like you, I am all about Firefox and I also use IE only when I have to. I fought hubby over going to Firefox but he made me switch because his brother (a computer geek with a bachelor's degree to back up his claim that he kinda knows what he's talking about- haha) said it was safer. I hate change but I am SO glad I did it!! I can't really say what I like better- user friendliness and looks, I suppose, and at the time IE didn't have tabbed browsing- THAT is an awesome thing!! I love, love, love my "skin" add-on (forget what it's called but it changes the toolbar area and all icons and stuff.) My IE, when I have to use it, constantly warns me about some spy doctor software it wants to run or something and even when I constantly tell it "REMEMBER my answer" it forgets and keeps asking...gggrrr. I can get that behavior from my 7 year olds. What exactly do you mean by "IE tab"?? I open my IE browser and go to the website I am having issues with...is there an easier way I am unaware of??

:( I can't use it...it is only for Firefox 3 and I have Firefox 2 and do not see where Firefox 3 is available. I am in the US...that is the reason maybe?

For me I choose Internet Explorer over Firefox. Because the main reason is that I am a hardcore downloader for video. I grab the video in a streaming website using a video graber. Firefox dont allow me to do this. That is why I used Internet Explorer.

Downloading videos is possible in firefox as well!! Though you don't need to 'grab' them or anything, you can install addons which are easier to use..

I, too, am a hardcore Firefox user. I also have the IE Tab addon because some websites are just too stubborn to make their websites accessible to all browsers. I don't like IE 7, too. My sister updated IE to 7, and I still don't use it.

I completely agree with you.. But I still dont understand why more than 80% of the netizens (=citizens of the inter'net'.. :) are reluctant to switch to firefox.. why dont they realise how customizable and useful it is!!

I think some people are hesitant to switch because Microsoft, who distributes Windows with IE, is an established company, where as, Mozilla compared to Microsoft is fairly new. Another reason would be, other people are not that tech savvy, and they don't understand the comparison of Firefox's usefulness to IE.

ya.. but I think Microsoft has lost its name and fame and is being made fun of and criticized by the tech community for copying other's ideas and giving crashing problems tabs were copied from firefox abviously, but it failed.. They tried buying Yahoo the Great, but obviouly they got kicked pretty hard.. I think you should subscribe to theinquirer.net They are a funny lot of people.. They call Microsoft as 'The VOLE' !!

If you think from the prespective of a developer and programmer you should consider IE. They have license of GIF which lets you view images perectly. Lets you display animations. It is excellent Java compatible which lets you easily download and view your websites perfectly. IE has huge range of add ons highest used browser of the world. It has options which are considered to be worth huge value available for free. And lots more ----

I only partly agree with you.. I dont think IE's addons are as worthy as those of firefox... secondly, there is something known as web standards which firefox sticks to better than IE, as even proved by a tech website.. you said its most used.. thats because people are reluctant to switch and the just overlook the features and capabilities of firefox and I suggest all websites to make themselves compatible with viewing in firefox so no GIF of javascript problems..

Firefox also lets web developers view images perfectly, and their addons are free. Firefox even offers webmasters/developers addons that are useful. For example, FireFTP for uploading files to their websites, CSS Mate to check on CSS, JavaScript Debugger, Relaxed the HTML Validator, and more. It is really the highest used browser in the world because it comes with Windows, so the user has no choice but to have it. 0.o

Internet Explorer of Firefox?? Hmmm.. I would prefer Firefox than Internet Explorer. Why ? It's because Firefox has stolen my heart first with it's 'tab'. And now when IE get older, he try to do the same thing.

I use FireFox also. I first got it when I had dial up and it made a huge difference. Now I have a new computer with Vista on it and I thought I wouldn't need Firefox but learned fast that it's even faster than the new IE 7. IE 7 seems to have a lot of crashes and glitches for me. My son tried to tell me IE was better until one day he asked me how to get FireFox, now he's a user too.

I only use a customized Mozilla Firefox. I hate and despise Internet Explorer. It's kind of funny how when I first started using computers I loved IE. After finding out about Firefox, it is now all I use. Screenshot (Low quality): img176.imageshack.us/img176/5778/myfirefoxpn2.jpg

I've had nothing but problems with IE every time I used it in the past, so I've been using FF for about two years now and love it. I've got the IE tab thingy, but I've never used it while surfing. I use it to watch movies on Netflix Watch Instantly because they do not support the FF browser... YET... I've got an email in to them about that. I always suggest FF to people who need help with things on the various sites I'm a member of online. The first thing I always say is "you should use Firefox". I converted my husband this past year and he loves it. He's installed it on all the comps in our house an his mom's house (though she still uses IE7). I'm trying to wear my brother down too, but he's not on the computer enough to really worry about it yet. Once he starts creating a website for his business, though, I'm going to be on him about using Firefox instead of IE. I've tried other browsers like Safari and the like, but FF is definitely the best! :)

firefox - mozila firefox
I'm using firefox. I started using it because of the tabbed browsing, as I didn't want to have so many IE windows cluttered on my taskbar. Although now IE7 has tabbed browsing, but I'm still sticking to firefox:)

Honestly I don't see the different between the two internet browser. So long as I am able to surf the internet, it is alright with me. I use both of them. Right now I am using firefox but other time I use Internet Explorer. My friend also prefer to use firefox. Actually what is the different and how can we tell? Both are equally fast compare to Nescape.
