recently, i took a tumble and broke myself. technically, nothing "broke" i sprained both my ankles, both my knees, screwed up my left hip, and tore the hamstring from ankle to butt on the left side so i sure felt pretty broken lol the bruises have faded, the pain is subsiding, but my legs still arent working all properly. i went to the docs a week ago, and im told something about a serious injury sorta severing the synopses of the brain or something, and he gamme a couple exercises to retrain my brain to regain control of my movements. so now im spending my ime standing on one foot like a flamingo, and drawing out the alphabet with my toes.. my question is this, anyone with any physical therapy experience know of anything more i can do to get back up to par quicker? im growing rather tired of walking like donald duck on crack.

I would strongly suggest learning and practicing Tai Chi. Tai Chi C'haun has helped me more than every physical therpist and physician I've seen. It will help restore your body, it really works! Buy a video, or even better sign up for a few classes. You will be amazed at how much better you feel and how your body heals itself. BTW, sorry about the tumble, what you are going through is not fun.

Yeah I've been there, give your body time to heal. Eat healthy, take lots of hot baths...

Having no physical therapy experience at all, and as much as you may not want to hear thi, generally with things like retraining your brain to do something can only be done with time. Even though it seems very silly, standing on your foot and drawing out the alphabet is probably about all you can do. I know that in different cases with head trauma patients, or patients that have had a stroke, the only thing that they can do is just keep on truckin, and do the best you can. I hope that for your sake that it takes less time.
