God Before Your Partner

A christian man I know once commented that if he was out doing God's work and his wife died he would not take a break from what he was doing to make funeral arrangements. In his opinion the work of God comes first and all else after.
Isn't this taking the principle of putting God first to another level? How would you react if your partner uttered such a statement?

I am married to a minister. When I read this tom him, he said That, is just WRONG. Not everyone feels that way. I feel sorry for this man and his wife, because God commanded the man to love his wife as Christ loved the church! Personally, I don't think that means putting the church BEFORE his wife.

I am happy your husband does not share the same view as this person. I would positively throw a fit if my husband should ever say that to me moreover to say so publicly. Thanks for sharing with me. (lol)
