the situation becomes really tense in China!!! the riots in Tibet, the election in Taiwan, the carriers from the U.S.,the declaration of Japanese government.... why there are so many things against China? the president of PRC said the year of 2008 would be a hard year for Chinese economy and a difficult year for Chinese politics. I don't know why there are so many officious powers around the world. Can the war make them happy and comfortable??? any war can lead to a bloody scene, and the earth is our home, right? violation can solve nothing and noboby wanna a war, right? my friends ,all my friends from all over the world would you be nice enough to spread the idea of PEACE to everybody around you? Please do something for our home! thank you very much!!!

I am with you, the world is our home. There does not need to be war, there needs to be communication. I am trying to get people to sign the request for the Dalai Lama to open a dialogue with China. You telling your friends, and they telling their friends, we can achieve this. Please go to the site in my discussion for helping the Dalai Lama and sign, then spread the word. This is a real way that we can historically stop violence before it gets so far gone and we do have a war.

I personally think that there is not going to be any war against China. I have always voted for peace. My peace is between countries, within countries, between people.

Like you and the rest of the world, we are also concerned about the escalation of violence that is happening in Tibet. I think the renewed call for independence in both Tibet and Taiwan is not surprising, given that this year, China is hosting the 2008 Olympics and much attention is centered on China as August approaches. Pro-democracy forces will use this opportunity to stir up turmoil and attention, and they know that how the China administration deals with them over these matters will be closely watched by the rest of the world. In Taiwan's case, there is also their election today, and as you know, the issue of Taiwan independence will be a political tool that the opposition will use to gain votes. Perhaps after the Taiwanese election, things will calm down there and the Taiwan independence rhetoric will cease. Unlike Taiwan, I think Tibet is less of a problem for China, because I believe no country in the world recognizes Tibet as a separate entity of China, and therefore independence for Tibet is a non-issue. What I wish is that China will be able to bring calm to Tibet without further bloodshed. I doubt there will be all out war. But I read that Tibet is among the poorest part of China (perhaps that's why they are calling for autonomy). I hope that the Chinese administration will do positive things for the Tibetans to improve their lives and bring about a better future for them.

there wont be any war my friend. these things was just magnified because the world have their eyes on China because of the upcoming Olympics. the opposition on Chinese government use these opportunity to create turmoil because they know that Chinese gov. will have its autonomy on hold because the world is watching them. i dont know much about the issue on tibet riots and their call for liberation but i think its impossible for China to withdraw because Tibet is a small land unlike Taiwan which have their own autonomy over the years.

I'm so gland there are so many peace-loving people in the world, I see hope for world peace because of you guys, and I will do my best to be a part of you. Today actually is very crucial for Chinese people because of the election in Taiwan, one of the elector would buck for the independence of Taiwan and the other still recognize Taiwan is part of China. The result is coming out in about 10 hours. So if the former guy got elected there is probably gonna be a war. If the US stand in the way of Beijing unifying China there is gonna be a big war,but I dont think that's gonna happen.

I dont expect qiao's worry about his country reflects the most chineses concerns. China is moving toward a great direction that will lead this country emerges as a newly-superpower entity in asia. China has been playing constructive roles to make this region more stable. Its political stability, its economic growth become the main pillars for China to move ahead to lead the way toward a stronger asia. In this regards, China will always places herself as a peaceful force rather than as hostile one. Most countries in this region -- Asean group, Korea, Japan, Taiwan -- also have the same position, they see China as a new player in Asia that could play significant role for stable asia as a whole. Given to this strategy, Beijing will not take counter-productive policy to serve her national interest. So war will never be allowed to start here.

i believe there will be no war. the US and the world fear the might of China. what i believe will sort the problem in Tibet is for the US,UK and Russia to say stop the riots or we will pull out of the olympics. this is a powerful threat. the time and effort put in to the olympics by china is immense. to lose this prestige by missing the main competitors would be a massive financial blow and china , i feel , would capitulate. peaceful resolution!
