I just stumbled across this and was wondering if anyone does this or have you heard of it:
Add a toothpick to your water first and then the egg will never crack when boiling.
I am going to try this tomorrow while I am boiling the eggs for dyeing.

Hi Kimbers,
I have not heard of what you said about a toothpick inside the boiling water with the eggs. Not only that I have also not heard of boiling eggs for dyeing the hair? or is it anyother dyeing you are talking about??
Please clear it for me..

I have never heard of that, what I have heard of is taking the egg on the flat side and poking a little whole in it with a saftey or straight pin.
Good Luck and let us know if it works. Hubby loves hard boiled eggs, hates it when they break.
Have a great day!

Well I tried the experiment this on Saturdan and it worked. Now I have hubby wondering why and how. LOL
This is what I did:
1) put my dozen eggs in the pot
2) added the toothpick
3) filled pot with water
4) brought the eggs to a fast boil
5) took the pot off the burner and covered it
6) let the pot sit for 20 minutes
This is how I always do my eggs minus the toothpick step.
Don't ask me, but it did work for me!!!
