Payday Pains!

Because of Easter, we have been paid earlier than usual,I am in charge of the finances, and I have just spent the last hour going through all the bills and sorting out where the money is going for the next month! I hate it because it never works out in my favour, and the bills always win the most money! Worse still, it will be 5 weeks this time until we get paid again because of how the dates fall, most of the year its every 4 weeks, but I think there is about 2 times in the year where we go 5 weeks until payday. So now that I know that I have less pocket money than usual and I am feeling a little sorry for myself! So how does it work for you? Are you like us and put all your money together to pay everything? Who is the lucky soul who is in charge of the finances in your house, or do you both just manage your own money?

Its tough isnt it? sometimes it is so hard, I would love nothing more than just to go and have a little splurge, to be able to go and have a shop for something new, just a new top and not feel guilty about it or worry that it would leave us short!

Yep I know exactly what you mean! My other half has been working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week for the last few months and he has offered to buy me a new laptop! I desperately want to take him up on the offer but I know we can't afford it! I guess I have to grapple with my conscience as I know we could do an awful lot with the money it would cost for a new laptop! xxx

I get paid every week, + tips. So I go home everyday with some sort of money, the hard thing about my job, is I have to be sure to put it away. With all that cash it is so easy to spend it when you shouldn't. It is just me so I am the only one who has to worry about. I do pretty well, except like right now, I have been sick and have missed a couple of shifts, so now my check will be short. No paid sick days here. Hope I can make rent this month.

You sound pretty sensible, so I am sure that you will make your rent! Hope you are feeling better though after your illness.

Isn't it terrible to have figure how to live from paycheck to another. Its very sressful for me. I get the pleasure of doing the bills. Alot of bills and very little money. But we always manage.

It is very stressful, it seems to take me so long sometimes when I have to juggle this that and the other to try and balance it all out. Yes we too always manage, but sometimes I get sick of just managing, it would be nice to be able to live a bit each month!!!
