Iwant to have a cat at home

I have been long for having a cat,I think cats are lovely and quiet. When I was a child,I had always dreamt of having a cat. But I still haven't a cat now, because my mum thinks our small house haven't enough room for cat's activity, and outside is dangerous to a cat. I really want a cat,but the problem is~How can I pursuade my mum?

I understand you and your mum as well. I am not really fond of cast and honestly, I am afraid of them especially the newly born. But your mom is right, it is really a great responsibility to have a cat specially if you don't have enough room in the house. I really don't know how you can persuade your mom, but maybe if you can assure her that you will be a responsible owner of a cat, maybe she will change her mind. One of the reasons why mom doesn't like cat is because of its litter. If you have a small house and the cat will pee or poop anywhere in the house, the entire house will stink and you will not be happy for that too. So maybe if you can convince her that you will be responsible... she might let you have a cat.

I am so sorry that your Mom will not allow you to have a cat, they are very great pets.I do not see why you would need a large house to have a cat, I have a small 2 bedroom house. My cat never goes outdoors. All you have to do is get a litter box, a cat will start using it right away, just keep it cleaned out, no problem. So no mess in the house. Cats really take care of their selves. No bathing, like a dog, they clean them selves up.They are nice and cuddly.Good Luck.

I agree with the previous poster. If you really want a cat, show your mom that you are responsible in other areas of your life. If you are going to school, make sure that you get all high marks. If you are old enough, get a job so that you can show your mom that you can save and make money, and that you can afford to take care of all the needs of a cat. Cats are a lot of work! Also, you can help out more around the house. Try to make some kind of deal with her, maybe, as well. Something as simple as helping her around the house more can be a great bargaining chip. As for me, we always had animals growing up. When I moved out on my own, though, I was finally able to get the animals that I wanted and I am responsible enough to care for them.

I really love my cats. It took a long time to persuade my dad into getting a cat.. 7 years ago. And now we have 4 of them, each of them were strays. I think she'll come around eventually. Good luck!
