Are you at the mercy of your pets? They have a subliminal way of bossing you.

I'm house sitting at the moment and looking after two ginger cats. They are kittens that are growing up, so past the cute stage and into mischief which is their redeeming quality. See I'm not really a pet person though I will not be cruel to animals, I just don't have pets myself. Anyway I'm here doing my myLot thing and they are outside my room which has a glass wall awaiting dinner! Demanding creatures they are, do you find your animals rule your life?

I know our cat Tia has my other half and my kids right where she wants them though she never tries it with me as she knows she is on to a loser with that one! lol We could have the living room window open and she will jump in then go sit at the front door crying to be let out and they do it! Best bit is she goes out and jumps straight back in through the window! If they are all out she just jumps in and out the window! xxxx

One of my cats knows exactly how to get me out of bed in the mornings to give him some breakfast. He LEAPS across my head and if I ignore him he LEAPS back across the other way, and continues until I finally drag my butt out of bed and into the kitchen. Another thing they do when they want breakfast and I'm still snoozing is jump up on the bed and have a cat spat right on top of me! Hehehe, I love my little buddies!

Animals are creatures of many talents. As a farmer for 50 years I've always had an affinity for Farm animals including the Cow-dog, and the Barn-Cats. My latest cow-dog was an Australian Sheep dog which I trained to detect American Foul Brood(a disease of Honey bees which has no cure) The dog soon learned to sniff out infected Colonies, but the bees stung his nose which had to be out out, even though I dressed him in bee-proof coveralls. So that success was a failure! Its been said that a Dog's nose is 1000 times better than a Human's nose. A friend was asked to babysit a dog for a neighbor who was in the hospital. Each day my friend walked the dog past the vacant house of his sick neighbor. When the neighbor came home from the hospital he called my friend to tell him that he needed a couple of days to recover before he could look after the dog, and not to let the dog know he was home. So again as usual and my friend took the dog for the accustomed walk but as they were going past the now inhabited House the dog became very excited and began to bark and pull on the leash. It was obvious the dog knew his owner was home. His nose had let the Cat out of the Bag!

Was it a blue or red heeler or kelpie? Dog's noses are so sensitive so that must have hurt to be bitten by a bee - ouch, poor thing. Once upon a time a friend who has red heelers on her farm went away and she asked me to keep the dog at my house until her return, about a week. She said the dog would be very protective of you. Even though this was not my dog, after a few days it became accustomed to me looking after her. Then became the guard dog of my property and me. Wow, the dog made me feel special! LOL.

The dog in question was an Australian Sheep dog. He was a very pretty black with brown markings and white stockings and feet, and no tail. At that time I was doing Bees and Honey and had no Cattle. This dog was also a good watch-dog. He never came into the house but had his own insulated dog-house where he slept in the winter. Needless to say he had a wonderful thick coat to keep him warm. Sometimes the snow would drift over his house but he always managed to find the door and get inside.
