After much procrastination and a lot of up-in-the-air'ed-ness, the big boss finally came back with my last official day of the job. April 12th is my last day, and I have to admit I'm a little happy, a little sad, and a little nervous and bit relieved. My replacement starts next week, so I get to spend that time training her. That brings the finality home a little bit. This is either the best or worst decision of my life. I guess time will tell.

I'm trying to get a government job, or at least a very good job. Low stress, pushing paper, using my brain and not dealing with the public 24/7. I figure I will change my life or end it. It's a good plan, the clock is ticking.

Freedom? from working in an 8 to 5 or routine job?.... Then you are considering putting up your own company where you can be the boss and can dictate your own terms. Good luck.

Ha, no where near a 8-5 job. I don't want my own business, I don't need the stress or the headaches that comes with it. But thanks for the luck.

Good luck friend. I did that same thing 6 months ago but I didnt give them notice. They were trying to get rid of me because one of the bosses didnt like me. It is really hard right now to find another job. I would suggest signing up with some temp agencies in your area so that you will have some money coming in while you are looking for another job. I wish you all the luck in this HORRIBLE job market.
