I hear so much about this being Politically correct when speaking about people. I want to see if any one agrees with me that this saying Fill in the blank-American, when speaking about people that are not Caucasian is still racial profiling, and still keeping our country segregated and un-unified?

I agree...we should all just say we american...enough with the division...i get so mad on things that ask you your race...i understand they are trying to study demographics, but it annoys me all the same. it has gotten better, but it's still a big problem that probably most people wouldn't think of except because of Obama.I hope it ends someday, but it could take decades to see a change.

it has taken us centuries to get to where we are now, so I am not under the illusion that it will be an overnight thing for us to get to where we no longer worry over the race of a citizen of the U.S.A.

I agree. I think as long as people think the way they alway have, we'll always be experiencing the same thing. Its difficult to deal with through day to day life because you can say one thing and its perceived as the opposite of what you meant.. and I do think that some people that are in the public eye do this, and their words are maginified because they're in the spotlight.

Yeah I have noticed that the more in the spotlight people are, the more their words are scrutinized, especially by the media...
